Ben is averaging 3 missed games a season lately and I bet with Watson behind him Ben would find a way to stay healthy or at worst we get to see Watson for a few games until Ben retires.
Watson will not be a savior for any team. If we pick him at 30 I'll stop watching football. He is a run first QB. He rarely looks off #1 receiver...3 outta 4 times he goes with the 1 and runs the other times. He can't read a defense to save his life. His accuracy is ok. Great arm strength. Maybe in the 5th or 6th round but not a chance in the 1st.

3rd or 4th round talent who will get drafted earlier since there are so few decent QBs in this draft

It wouldn't shock me. Even if it is, I'd rather grab somebody to help the Steelers go all in this year. I'm not sure that I want the QB that slips to 30 in a weak class.

crazy talk. He isn't a savior but I believe he has the skills to be a franchise QB. He definitely isn't a run first QB. 4500 yards in. The air each of the last 2 seasons. He can do it all but he definitely isn't a run first QB. LMAO at the 5th or 6th round. He is going to be the 5th or 6th pick in the first round.

And I really don't like gambling on running QB's like Watson. To me, he looks just like another RGme,Vince Young,Tim Tebow type. Can't really read defenses and just takes off and runs after the first and second reads.

When I last checked, pocket QB's are still winning more championships. I'd rather get a pocket guy.
Watson is more Russell Wilson than RG3. Vince Young? Cmon... that's just wrong.

              2016 - 425 passing yards vs Alabama. 3 TD's. 43 rushing yards
              2015 - 400+ passing yards vs Alabama. 4TDs and 1 INT. 73 rushing yards

I could see if he struggled for passing yards but he can sling the rock.

Nothing wrong with a QB who can extend plays and move te chains with his feet as well. Ben did this often early in his career.

He wont carry the Browns or Jets to the promise land but if he fell to us? In a heart beat.

Drafting a QB is a waste of a pick. We should be trying to be good while Ben is still playing, not preparing for his departure.

Of course, a lot of GB fans said the same thing when Aaron Rodgers fell into the Pack's lap during the back nine of Brett Favre's career.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

There was talk of him going #1 overall for a while before he ended up slipping to the Packers. I don't think that any of the QBs this year are viewed that way.

I don't like any of them as much as I liked Carson Wentz last year. Still can't believe Cleveland traded out of that pick.

We have been doing that for years. We will continue to do that as well. We have a ton of picks while Ben is under contract, if one of them is for a franchise QB to replace Ben there is nothing wrong with that IMO. We are called the Steelers not the Roethlisbergers... lol

Using a pick on a QB isn't a wasted pick as long as it is done in the later rounds because of the weak QB class this year. But whenever we do have to move on at QB, the best way to help him is to have a stocked team around him to take the pressure off of him.

Remember the team that Ben came to when we drafted him. We want to try and emulate that when we draft the next great Steeler QB.
