    Great season

    We had a great season:

-We were only one of four teams to play in a Conference Championship game
    -We won the AFC North
-We won twice as many games as we lost
-We had a young defense that got better as the year went on...still more to do
-We have some of the best offensive talent in the league that will be back for several more years
-Our offensive line is one of the leagues best

Disappointing end to the season but lots to look forward to next year
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

It is/was , but as long as they trot out the sane dead scheme against Brady you can keep expecting the next couple of years to end this way.

and that's the frustrating part...knowing the path remains the same. About the only thing you can hope for is to win the #1 seed in the AFC, and that is going to take something drastic to happen.

I don't think the #1 seed would change anything. Tomlin is incapabe of putting a game plan together or making meaningful halftime adjustments. That and the fact that the Patriots live rent free inside the head of every Steeler.

Overall, finishing this season with a loss in the AFCCG is not bad. It's about where this team should have finished. The defense played well down the stretch, but realistically was still a year away from being a SB caliber defense. Next year, the Steelers need to see Burns, Davis and Hargrave take the leap that you hope for and expect for players going into their second year. And whether Byrant or somebody else, the offense needs one more weapon.

It doesn't shock me that the Steelers lost to the Pats*. But what disappoints me is that it wasn't close. Squandered opportunities on offense, a putrid defensive game plan and an offensive plan that, frankly, wasn't much better.

Give credit where credit is due. This has nothing to do with shortcomings by anyone on the Steelers as much some need to play the blame game for whatever agendas they have.

The Pats have won 15 games this season for a reason. They are just a well oiled machine with Brady back there. He gets rid of the ball faster than any QB in the league so I'm not even sure rushing more helps. I'm not sure playing man helps because likely you end up drawing more pass interference penalties.

We had a great season and are set up for another next year.

you have to jam the WRs. Mess up the timing a bit to get to Brady. Even on the TD to Hogan we had everyone else covered we just have a safety who is freaking blind. Golden sucks.

I dont mind drawing PI's if we are getting to Brady in the process. What we are doing isn't working so how about trying something different for a change?

I have no problem losing to the Pats in their house but I DO have a problem when we go in with a terrible game plan on D.

we just need to admit that we will never win another SB if we have to play the Pats.

I undertsnad the frustration but will never say that. We played without our best Def Lineman. We played with a very young secondary that will only get better. Get a better rusher from ROLB and I think we get much better on D

None of that will be enough to beat the Pats if the Steelers keep playing the same soft zone on D.

with these coaches and their game plans, losing in the afc title game is as good as its going to get. when you are the most talented team in the league, but cant beat a good qb in the playoffs, something isnt right.

You aren't the most talented team when you lose your star RB early in the game, your best TE can't get on the field because of concussions and you have no legit #2 receiver (see Bell comment earlier).

Our defense has been work in progress all season and we just showed we need Heyward on the field and can't rely on a 38 year pass rusher to get pressure on the best QB in NFL history.

You can run with the gloom and doom storyline all you want but we just ran into a better team yesterday. Doesn't detract from the fact that 28 other teams wished they were us yesterday and had the season we had

                          best TE?..lol
20 other teams would be happy to have DW as their starter.
they were better. were they 30 points better? a team this loaded with talent, mostly healthy, shouldnt get embarrassed like this.
i wish i had your 'hey, at least we aint the browns' attitude when it comes to expectations of your team.
