Any reason not to fire Butler for this game plan?

The problem was a lack of pass rush. The teams that have been able to slow down Brady were generally able to apply consistent pressure on him. The Steelers tried man coverage in the game and still got burned because they couldn't get pressure on Brady. Give Brady enough time and he will find someone open regardless of scheme.Comment

when did we try man? I saw zone all night. Seems like the only time we try man is Timmons on a WR.The problem was a lack of pass rush. Teams can find ways to get open vs man coverage. Some of you seem to believe it's as simple as playing man coverage. Well it's not that simple. What ever scheme a team chooses they MUST get quick consistent pressure on a QB like Brady. When pressure doesn't happen regardless of coverages or schemes Brady wrecks havoc on defenses. It's been that way for a long time. The Seahawks are predominantly zone coverage team. They are one of the few teams that can apply pressure with front 4. Even the idea of having players that can apply pressure will change the way Bellichick does things. Denver is a man coverage team. They gave the Pats fits last season because the Pats had issues blocking Miller. The Steelers don't have a feared pass rusher yet. The Steelers need to get better at applying pressure.
I suppose the Steelers thought they could get away with playing bend but don't break like they did all season? Run the ball with Bell and keep the game relatively close that way? It's a good idea when the players can execute the plan.Comment
