Window closing - HC opportunities for Haley

Kyle Shanahan looks like he has the last chair held with his name on it at the end of the season: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000775827/article/kyle-shanahan-almost-certain-to-become-49ers-new-head-coach (not worth clicking on, just included as a reference).

I think all the other HC slots are filled, so looks like Big Ben won't have to start over with a new OC next year. That's great!

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

I thought Haley had pretty much indicated that he wasn't entertaining HC jobs? Maybe I'm misremembering.

I think I remember the same thing, but nevertheless I'm just a bit happier when there's no chance for anyone to change their mind at the end of our season!

I wonder if he has mixed emotions if he was interested in HC jobs. Hopefully he calls a game for the ages out of frustration since all the gigs are gone.

All of the pieces are there for an extended run, as ambitious as some of these coaches are, I hope they value what they've put together and the potential of what they can accomplish.

Look at the Patriots, every year McDaniels, Patricia and other assistants interview and/or have offers on the table, and they turn them down and stay with the organization. Its almost like they know they have a good thing going on and are willing to be patient for their time to shine. Its hard to turn down the bigger money I'm sure, but man, the Patriots do it right when it comes to retaining these guys.

They also watched McDaniels, Weiss and Cremmel fail as HC's and seems McDaniels realized the grass isn't always greener

I don't think a coaches ability completely lies with themselves. I really think you need the right situation to be successful.

IMHO, Bill B's stint in Cleveland should keep him out the HOF. It's clear he's not the greatest coach in the world or he would have won in Cleveland, right? Overrated thanks to Brady. Or vice versa. Or Cheating did it. Or they're just good. Who really knows. It's all fake news. We'll never know the real story. We get mad. Pats fans get defensive.

AB puts naked guys on his Facebook Live feed from the locker room.

It's hard to make sense out of any of it. But even so, we're opinionated about everything. It's like the state of politics in our country. No one know anything, but everyone thinks their qualified to decide everything. Fans fall into their Democrat or Republican like philosophies for their fandom. Some have their enlightened Libertarian ways but they know nothing either. Coaches are like the politicians. They're polished, but they don't get it either.

We cheer them when they win for us and beat others. We complain when they lose for us. There's no middle ground on anything.

What's the point? I don't even know, but Haley could be the best or worst coach in the world. No idea. He seems to do good things and bad things. He's probably as good as anyone else if you put him in the right situation and on the flip side he'd fail miserably if put in the wrong job. Everything in life is complete and utter luck even though we like to give ourselves credit for what we do.

A strong work ethic still counts for something. As well as utter laziness on the other end of that spectrum. We certainly have a hand making our own luck based on how hard we are willing to work.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Makes no sense for Haley to take a rebuilding job unless he just has to be a HC. Most of the recent hires will be fired within the next 3-4 years. Haley has that t-shirt and has been there and done that. He is with one of the most stable, successful franchises in the NFL making great money. What would be the motivation to leave?

More bigger great money! Then back to OC somewhere after bumping up his earnings by 150% or more for 3-4 years. Why not, in the end it's a business, where no-one has guaranteed security.
