    2017 Salary Cap Carryover

The Steelers will carry over $3.27 million in cap space next year:

It's not quite the $50 million that the Browns are carrying over, but it's more than what the Steelers have done in the past.

Next year will also be the first year that the Steelers don't have a huge prorated bonus on the books resulting from a restructure. AB does in some regards, but that is it. All said, I think the Steelers enter this offseason (hopefully not until after the SB) in the best shape they've been in from a cap perspective in a long time.

Sign Antonio Brown to a big money long term deal.

Apply the franchise tag to Le'Veon Bell. If he stays clean, he gets his own long term deal the following year.

Try to lure Lawrence Timmons back on a reasonable veteran contract.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Bring back HARRISON in a Limited Role like planned this year but also have a solid ROLB ready to go!!

Sign a legit FA for once (possibly another James Farrior)...and draft the best ball hawking FS possible.

Agree with all of that. I'd add exercising the 5th year option on Shazier (that has to be done before the 2017 season, correct?) and maybe looking at an extension for Tuitt.

            Agreed on AB

I would sign Bell to a long term deal with a contingency clause that allows provisions in case he gets caught again.

Before this season I wanted to extend Timmons to an extra year but lower his hit over both. I think it could have been done. After the year he has had I don't know how reasonable a one year contract that he would sign.

The best thing about next year's cap situation - the top paid players are legitimate stars. They wont be paying scrubs big money or having to much in dead cap space to muck things up.

Top 10 cap hits (check the link for details) excluding whatever happens with Bell: Ben, Brown, Pouncey, Decastro, Heyward, Mitchell, Gilbert, Green, Foster, Shazier. Only Green is iffy of that group now, and that's just due to lingering concussion problems he may not beat. The short time he was healthy he looked great. Nobody else outside that group has a cap hit over 3 million.
