So ... what did our D do different to keep their RB under check?

Was it just that we didn't have to worry about the pass, so we cheated up front?

    Or ...?

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

The weather and the urgency. I think we expected to waltz in to Miami and win too. Also wonder if they partied the night before.

Plus, we didn't have Dupree or Shazier and the young guys weren't starting. It was a different defense back then.

Some better players in at key positions ... and they played more physical ... faster ... with better tackling. Good to see. Kudos to the D on their performance!

Quite a difference in "want to" when they're in a playoff game vs. playing out the schedule against Cleveland. Plus, Ajayi was an unknown when they played during the season. This time they were ready and waiting. I think his longest run was 7 yards.

They weren't playing in Week 5 in hot temps with #95, #44 on the field and #94 puking during the game.
Not to mention their 3 Rookies weren't up to speed yet and BEN wasn't gimpy.

Pretty sure we had a lot more 3 D-Lineman sets in there.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

It always helps to score TD's in your first 3 drives so they are playing catch up all game long, as opposed to us trailing all game long.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

                          What hapened was:

                          Dupree much better than Moats
Harrison much, much better than Jones
Sean Davis much better than Golden
Artie Burns better than Gay on the outside
                          Hargrave playing much better
Shazier played this game and he is a potential game changing play waiting to happen every play

I don't think Butler is getting anywhere near the credit he deserves for developing this defense over the course of the season
