    random playoff stat

not that it really matters, just was wondering about it the other night so i thought i would look it up.

    steelers 2-3
    texans 2-3
    pats 4-1
    chiefs 3-2
    raiders 1-3
    dolphins 1-3

    lions 0-5
    seahawks 3-1
    falcons 2-2
    packers 5-2
    giants 3-2
    cowboys 3-2

these are the teams records vs teams in the playoffs.
most surprising to me is the packers had only 9 wins but 5 come against playoff teams
not surprising is the lions 0 wins. probably a 6 win team if they didnt get a TON of calls/breaks against bad teams in the 4th quarter of their games
little surprised about the raiders too. lots of wins regular season vs bad teams, not too good against playoff ones. dolphins in this category also.
steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clown

Interesting stats. What they don't reflect is momentum. I don't know about the other teams, but our losses against playoff teams came when we were a much worse team. Stats are "static" - they weigh the losses the same no matter what point in the season they occurred.

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

If you look at each of the games against playoff teams, we destroyed KC back in week 4 by the score of 43-14. Ben had 5 TD passes. Our most dominant performance of the year up to this point, I would think.

The loss to Miami featured an unusually porous run defense and Ben was knocked out of the game about half way though. Probably the flukiest game of the year, all things considered, but it did begin a win streak for Miami that ultimately landed them in the playoffs.

The loss to New England was Tom Brady vs. Landry Jones and actually ended up being a closer game than most expected. If we had played them in September instead, it would have been Ben vs. Garoppolo or Brissett instead.

The loss to Dallas featured one team in the midst of its longest losing streak in some time and the other team in the midst of its longest winning streak in some time, and included an awesome 4th quarter comeback from Ben, only to be blown by our defense in about 40 seconds time. A gut punch of loss, but it did provide a glimpse of promise for the prolonged win streak to follow this game.

The win against the Giants was a pretty complete game from both the offense and the defense. A garbage time TD from NYG with seconds to play made the score differential appear to be a somewhat respectable 10 points, but it was certainly more of a blowout than that.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This is why I think the "Tomlin loses to bad teams" mantra is more myth than reality...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.
