It really is the perfect schedule composition. Let's hope they don't screw it up with expansion or trying to add a 17th or 18th game to the schedule.
Other issues I'd consider changing, though:
Mandate a bye for both teams prior to any Thursday night game so this quick 3-day-turnaround garbage is gone (and I'd be okay if they felt the need to add a second bye week for each team to make this happen). It's not safe for players and doesn't allow coaches to implement a full gameplan either.
Stop taking away home games from teams to pay internationally. Either move the Jaguars to London permanently or don't...stop screwing around with this.
Implement a weighted draft lottery for non-playoff teams like the NBA and NHL have...it's much easier for basement-dwelling NFL teams to tank for better draft position when each game out of 16 has a much larger impact than each game in an 80-something game schedule.
Stop testing and punishing players for marijuana. It's a much safer means for players to help manage pain during the week as opposing to popping narcotic pills or getting joint injections to play. Still test for performance-enhancing drugs, obviously, but marijuana is legal in more and more places now...get with the times.
Play the Super Bowl on Saturday night. That allows people to have real parties, celebrate, and not have to worry about work early Monday morning after the game goes late on Sunday night.
I'll put by soapbox away now.
