Sit 'em next week? I mean ... everyone??

Can we pull a Popovich and not even dress our starters? ?? Nothing, nada, zero, zilch to play for ... Only bad things, like injury, can happen.

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

You designate 7 guys inactive from your 53 man roster. Ladarius Green and Stephon Tuitt will obviously be two of them. We want them to heal up for wild card weekend at Heinz two weekends from now. I suppose you could fill the other 5 inactive spots with your pro bowlers (Ben, Brown, Bell, Pouncey, DeCastro). Although they would dress guys like Shazier, Timmons, and Deebo on defense, I wouldn't play them either. Play your young DL and DB's and the LB's who have spent most of the year on special teams.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Absolutely. Most starters should never see the field.

I think most should sit - but I wouldn't be surprised if the team treated it like the 3rd pre season game. play initially to keep the routine going, and then pulled early.

Yea I think most of those guys need to sit next week... especially those with nagging injuries. We've basically been handed a gift (next best thing to a first round bye)...and need to take advantage of that to get some guys healthy. I'm hoping DHB, Coates, Tuitt, and Green are ready to go for the Wildcard round!

Hell no, don't sit Ben. Have you guys seen his play after a bye week???? Trust the O line to keep him clean and let him play.

Right now, we have the #3 seed...whatever we have to do to keep that seed, I would do it...

If the Steelers win in the first round of the playoffs, they would then go to a Carr-less Oakland for round two...

Keep the 3rd seed if at all possible...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

The Steelers already clinched the third seed.

I hadn't completed all the research at the time I posted, but you would have to go all the way to the strength of schedule tiebreaker...

I think the Steelers need to play their players. At the very least for a half. Guys that are injured can probably rest. Having a week off can be a good and bad thing. There really isn't a "right" decision to be made under the circumstances. It's almost better if the Steelers had something to play for.

Rest Bell and AB and Ben... and maybe Shazier.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I would like to see us come out in heavy passing attack and really try to get Ben into a groove heading into the playoffs.

If I did the math right, Tomlin's teams are 0.67 to the good after a bye. However, in the last 3 yrs they are 0-for. I say play full team at least a half. Can't afford to start out slow in the first playoff game given the tenuous defense we saw yesterday.

That is a good point! I would've said sit them, but Ben is/has been crappy after bye weeks. I think you play him (and all the healthy guys) for a half, and feel out the game. If it is especially chippy or physical, pull them. If the other team (CLE) has their plane tickets to Cancun in their back pockets... then its all good.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

If any of our starters get injured against a Cleveland team with nothing to lose we will be furious.

                              Don't do it.
