21 points in 4th qrtr - is Super Ben back?

Sorry to interrupt the is MT great or isn't he thread, but ...

It sure seems like a long time since Ben pulled off a 4th qrtr comeback, and he did it twice (3x?) tonight.

Is he back? If so ... we are unbeatable, as long as our D hangs in there like they've done recently, and learn a lesson from tonight.

    Woo-hoooo!

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

Since Ben entered the league in 2004, no other QB has lead more game winning drives. In those last 13 seasons, Ben has more game winning drives than Brady, Brees, the Manning brothers, everyone. Respect.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Is Haley the problem? The guy can draw up some nice plays but I'm not a fan of his playcalling. feels like he handcuffs Ben in these games.

Post game interview, Roethlisberger made a point to say only 9 passes in the first half, and contrasted it with no huddle 4th quarter. It's clear what he wants to do.

That said, the last of his two interceptions had to have you thinking WTF is wrong with the guy sometimes? And he's coming off those three weird INTs in Buff.

Actually he's third. Behind Brady and Brees. He shares the third spot with Eli.

But even so, its not all that. For instance he was much was better than Eli from 2004 to 2009. He tapered off afterwards. In the past 6 years Eli has many more final-minutes drives (sending him above Ben in the overall). Since 2012 the clear and out winner in this category has been Russell Wilson.

Ben's killer instinct seemed to have distinctly faded after 2010. I blamed it on Midgeville. But this year it's back. We're seeing the invincible Ben from 04-09..

Brady and Brees have more career game winning drives than Ben because they have been in the league longer, but Ben has more than both of them since 2004 when Ben entered the league. Ben was tied with Eli entering tonight, but Ben is now up on him as well.

don't forget that absent a defensive collapse - ben would have had another against the cowboys this year. Like others, it seems the amount of game winning drives over the last few years has decreased. We will never forget the pass to santonio - but right or wrong, it's felt like that was the high point and since then the steelers have largely come up short. perhaps that is influenced by the failed comeback drive against the packers. there is no doubt as to often a great divide between what people 'feel' and what the facts bear - and I certainly haven't done the research to substantiate whether or not there has been a dropoff in game winning drives since that super bowl.

all this being said, it 'feels' like over the last two years - gun slinging Ben is back strong, has no fear and believes he can score on any drive and is never out of the game.

and to me, that bodes well for a deep playoff run.

Ben's play is definitely a concern heading into the post season. Especially considering the Steelers will need to travel on the road for at least one game.

Do you have a copy of the playbook and are "hot miked" into the calls coming from the sideline? Would love to know what calls Haley makes and which ones Ben makes? Or are the bad ones Haley's and good ones Ben's? I can't tell from TV

Bell was having success in the first half, why would just throw the ball over the place when you're running the ball with success? I don't care if Ben throws 9 or 19 passes in a half, he has to make better decisions on those throws. He had to know the game plan going into the game which appeared to be to get Bell going first and then get the passing game going. This certainly couldn't have been news to Ben. Poor decisions and accuracy cost him in the 1st half, both of these areas improved in the 2nd half and it showed.

The bottom line is that the Steelers need 60 minutes of good Ben, not 30, he is still their best player on offense and most important, regardless of Bell and Brown's contributions. The Steelers can't afford to have 1st half Ben, the defense isn't good enough. They deserve credit for keeping the Ravens out of the end zone and settling for key FGs rather than getting TDs. The Raven's long snapper deserve kudos as well for a high snap on a Tucker gimme FG.

The Ben looks at the sidelines and shakes his head I think it's more so Haley. I added a question mark in my post because I'm not 100% sure. All I know is when we play the Rats we always look better in the no huddle.

From all I have read, Ben has complete control and knowledge of the offense. So with understanding he can check out of any play at any time and go with what he feels is better. Like that slant to Rogers, anyone notice Pouncy 5 yards down field run blocking, Ben threw it, all be it badly. But, Pouncy could have easily been illegally down field. That looked like a Ben adjustment to me, control, like I said. What gets me is that great TD at end and no flag was being thrown for face mask, Weddle was ripping ABs head off. He he did not make it, clock runs out. Penalty stops clock.

Plus, I loved the way the Oline stepped up and basically shut down the Ravens. Game ball to them.

Our O-line has been sensational during our winning streak, they are an elite unit in my opinion.
