Rosie Nix got planted by Burfict

Nobody talking about the forearm shiver that Burfict layed on Nix? Damn. Burfict is a jerk but he's a tough S.o.b.

Was thinking of the Hines Ward rule (when he broke a jaw ... against the Bengals?) there. Not a tough SOB, he's just looking to hurt people, there's a difference in my book.

Ben would be a good example of a tough SOB. He just wants to hurt you with his arm!

I agree with Ben about Burfict:

Roethlisberger was asked if he saw a reformed Burfict on Sunday.

        “No,” said Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger went on to say in so many words that Burfict is still very much a loose cannon and that even some of his teammates are getting tired of his on-the-field antics.

“It’s uncalled for,” Roethlisberger said. “I don’t get why he does some of the stuff and his teammates don’t get it either. I’ve talked to them.”

I’m going to say this about Burfict, he’s a phenomenal football player,” Roethlisberger said. “He is a great linebacker and he’s one that people could talk about for a long time to come because of his skill and unfortunately and maybe it’s just what he wants, maybe it’s the persona that he has to do for himself to psych himself up, I don’t really know, but it’s unfortunate because he is such a good football player."

Didn't look that way. I'll have to go back and check it again.

He reminds me of Draymond Green for the Golden State Warrior. Winning isn't the ultimate goal for some players. Some guys just like hurting players more than winning.

Excellent observation on Draymond Green. I haven't followed him this year, has he settled down? He's young, he may have hope off not becoming permanently Barficktized.

Ben Roethlisberger: I know some Bengals can’t stand Vontaze Burfict’s extra stuff

Posted by Josh Alper on December 21, 2016, 7:11 AM EST

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict renewed his relationship with the Steelers last Sunday and had a run-in with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during the afternoon.

Burfict was penalized for throwing Roethlisberger to the ground after a pass and then headbutted Roethlisberger while the two were jawing at each other. On 93.7 The Fan radio show Tuesday, Roethlisberger said that it’s unfortunate that Burfict engages in so much extracurricular behavior “because he is such a good football player” and added that he’s spoken to members of the Bengals who feel the same way about Burfict’s “extra stuff.”

“I know some of their players, they just can’t stand it, and I know if it was on our team, we’d have to have a talk,” Roethlisberger said. “I think they roll their eyes with some of the antics, truthfully.”

The Steelers emerged from the game without any players injured as a result of a Burfict hit, which is a step up from their 2015 meetings with the Bengals. It doesn’t seem that it will do much to quell the long-simmering distaste for Burfict in Pittsburgh.
Dude is a first-class A-hole. He was going out of his way to hurt someone. I predict his career will be cut short, someone will extract from him what he dishes out to others....case in point is DeCastro. The first time DeCastro pulled last Sunday, Burfict dove into his knees. When he tried the same stunt later on, DeCastro was ready and and met him head on. Result: a very woozie Burfict walking to the sidelines.

Vontaze Burfict misses practice with a concussion
Posted by Josh Alper on December 21, 2016, 3:09 PM EST

During last Sunday’s loss to the Steelers, Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was pulled from the game to be evaluated for a concussion after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers guard David DeCastro.

Burfict was cleared during the game, but he’s in the concussion protocol on Wednesday. The Bengals say that Burfict reported symptoms to the team earlier this week and will now be evaluated in the coming days to see if he can get cleared in time to face the Texans on Saturday night.

The Bengals also practiced without running back Jeremy Hill, tight end Tyler Eifert and left guard Clint Boling, although there was better news on offense with the expected presence of wide receiver A.J. Green on the practice field after he missed the last four games with a hamstring injury.

Word out of Cincinnati is that Green will play this weekend, although the Bengals’ chances of playing spoiler to Houston’s playoff hopes would take a hit should some of the others listed miss the game with injuries.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

He was allowed to return to the game with a possible concussion?
I'm sure he talked his way back onto the field but i doubt this is the last we hear about this.

Bengals' staff needs to take some heat for this.

David DeCastro not fined for apparent stomp on Vontaze Burfict

The Steelers-Bengals rivalry often includes allegations of wrongdoing by Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict. The Week 15 meeting between the teams prompted an allegation of wrongdoing against Burfict.

Video from the game seemed to show Steelers guard David DeCastro stomping on Burfict. The available angles weren’t definitive, but the images make it fairly obvious that something happened.

The NFL apparently saw nothing sufficiently clear to justify punishment. According to the NFL, DeCastro wasn’t fined.

In October, the Bengals fined Burfict $75,000 for stomping on the leg of Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount, even though the Bengals strongly disagreed with the league’s position that the stomp was clear and obvious.

Surely, Burfict’s history of transgressions influenced the assessment. DeCastro has no such history, which may have helped him avoid a fine.
