    Heyward, Wheaton Placed on IR

Just saw it on the Depot.

Ends their season, and likely Wheaton's career, with the Steelers.

Bud Dupree and Daryl Richardson brought up to the 53.

"Steelers have had way more than the statistically expected # injuries to key players over the past few years. Discuss."

I'm gonna say yeah, we have, and we would have gone lots farther in the post-season, maybe all the way, if we hadn't had those injuries. Heck, don't need to look any further than last year. But also in previous years, IMO.

    Anyone else?

(PS: Why would that end Wheaton's career with the Steelers?)

Wheaton? considering he hasn't been able to stay healthy AND they can't really trust Martavis, pretty sure WR will be high on this years draft priority

I hadn't even read the other posts... sounds like I'm sorta in line with this thinking... IIRC, he hasn't even been available for half the games thus far in his career.

I don't believe Wheaton has missed any games due to injury before this season, actually.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

and man that really sucks, seeing as how they had what was widely known as the top receiving corp in the league.. coming into the season. I don't see it as being a top priority of need.. especially with their TE's coming on as they are... and L.Green getting some PT.
