MY fear is that this could be Ben's last game this year. I have no idea what the damage to his knee was, but I'm not sure this is the game that Ben should be playing as his first game back. I know any game could be his last, the Ravens games are usually very physical and he needs to be healthy when playing them. I'd rather be 4-4 with Ben coming back healthier, than 5-3 and hoping Landry Jones can keep the ship on course.

Tough game to come back, although, Ravens games are usually hard hitting, not necessarily dirty. I don't envision trying to cheap shot him in the knee as much as put a helmet through his chest. On the other hand, if this was a Bengals game then I would not let him play.

That's a bit catastrophic thinking processes right there. He had meniscus surgery not ACL. It's about comfort more than he will hurt his knee if he goes out too soon. Maybe you have a crystal ball but personally as soon as he feels he can plant and throw...he's good to go.

Report: Roethlisberger a “true game-time decision”

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will play on Sunday. Unless he doesn’t.

Roethlisberger, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is a “true game-time decision” for Sunday’s game at Baltimore.

Roethlisberger suffered a torn meniscus 20 day ago. With a frayed-carpet-style clean-up procedure instead of a repair, Roethlisberger was expected back quickly. But then both Roethlisberger and the team suggested a potentially extended timetable.

Two days ago, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Roethlisberger is “on track” to start at Baltimore, and the team has listed Roethlisberger as questionable to play. Starting this year, “questionable” was expanded from 50-50 to mean the broad swath that encompasses 50-50 all the way up to anything less than 100 percent.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

it would really help my draft kings if they declared landry the starter so everyone dumps Ben - and then he comes in like he did against the stains and throws 4 TD's..........

I have Ben and Derrik Carr for my fantasy QB's...

Injured Ben vs Rats or D. Carr vs Denver

seems like a wash. I'm going with Ben

Actially, I was worried too but I'll take your more knowledgeable word for it.
I think most don't understand what you just explained (which the article confirms).

Thanks Shawn I feel much better now.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The meniscus is like a big cartilage pad in the knee. When it there is a minor tear, it can either be repaired or the small, torn Part can be shaved off, leaving the rest of the meniscus intact. That's what they did with Ben.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.
