Any reports on the umpteen zillion players who got injured in the past 2 games?
Maurkice Pouncey gets reps at right tackle on Wednesday
Posted by Josh Alper on October 5, 2016, 5:37 PM EDT
The Steelers may have to get creative on their offensive line against the Jets this Sunday, so they spent a little time at Wednesday’s practice preparing for the possibility.
Right tackle Marcus Gilbert sat out practice with an ankle injury that coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday left him “highly questionable” to play against the Jets. Backup Ryan Harris was also on the side on Wednesday due to a shin injury and the team has Chris Hubbard as the next man up, but they took a look at one other topic.
Center Maurkice Pouncey took some reps at right tackle during practice in the event the Steelers have to keep shuffling the deck come Sunday.
“Whatever the coaches need, whatever the team needs,” Pouncey said, via the Beaver County Times. “I know the guys on this team are willing and capable of doing anything they ask. The next man up has to play just as good or better.”
The Steelers were missing left guard Ramon Foster against the Chiefs last Sunday, but he was a full participant on Wednesday. Linebacker Ryan Shazier and wide receiver Eli Rogers, who also missed last week’s game, didn’t practice. Linebacker Jarvis Jones, who did play against Kansas City, sat with an ankle issue.

Darrelle Revis out, Matt Forte limited at Jets practice
Posted by Josh Alper on October 5, 2016, 5:14 PM EDT
After the Jets lost to the Seahawks last Sunday, reports from the team’s locker room had running back Matt Forte heading for x-rays for an undisclosed injury.
Jets coach Todd Bowles said Monday that he wasn’t aware Forte getting any x-rays after the game, but the practice week started with Forte on the injury report. The Jets listed Forte as limited in practice due to knee and rib injuries. Forte was limited last Wednesday as well, although only the knee was listed that time.
The fact that he’s practicing in any fashion suggests that neither of the issues is causing great concern for him or the team. After 29 carries for 82 yards the last two weeks, however, any limitations for Forte would be a bad thing for the Jets offense.
The same is true for a shaky Jets secondary should they have to play without cornerback Darrelle Revis. Revis hurt his hamstring against the Seahawks and didn’t practice on Wednesday. Wide receiver Eric Decker remains out of practice with a partially torn rotator cuff.

Darrelle Revis still sidelined by hamstring injury
Posted by Josh Alper on October 6, 2016, 12:47 PM EDT
Jets coach Todd Bowles said Monday that cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a “mild” hamstring strain in last Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks.
Mild as it may be, it has been enough to keep Revis from taking part in practice yet this week. Revis was a non-participant in Wednesday’s session and didn’t have his helmet with him during the portion of Thursday’s practice that was open to the media.
Missing practices during the week doesn’t mean that a player with Revis’ experience is going to sit out come the weekend, but it would certainly seem to be something more than a slim possibility that the Jets will take the field in Pittsburgh without him on Sunday. Whatever the struggles that Revis had in the opening weeks of the season, the Jets will need as many hands on deck as they can find to deal with a strong Steelers offense so Revis’ absence would be a big one.
Wide receiver Eric Decker, who missed last Sunday with a shoulder injury, was also without a helmet on Thursday. Right guard Brian Winters also remains out with a concussion he suffered while delivering a hit to Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett that drew a flag for unnecessary roughness.

Bowles: Revis will be game-time decision Sunday
Posted by Zac Jackson on October 6, 2016, 6:29 PM EDT
Jets Coach Todd Bowles told reporters Thursday that cornerback Darrelle Revis “is progressing” and will continue to rehab his hamstring injury in hopes of playing Sunday at Pittsburgh.
“We’ll see on Sunday morning,” Bowles said.
Revis, wide receiver Eric Decker (shoulder) and guard Brian Winters (concussion) all missed practice Thursday for the second consecutive day.
Running back Matt Forte and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson were full participants after being limited on Wednesday.

Shazier heads long list of Steelers out Sunday
Posted by Zac Jackson on October 7, 2016, 1:52 PM EDT
The Steelers list nine players as out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets due to injuries, most notably linebacker Ryan Shazier and starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert.
Backup right tackle Ryan Harris and backup interior lineman Cody Wallace are out, too, forcing the team to scramble and possibly shuffle its offensive line in multiple spots. Center Maurkice Pouncey took some reps at right tackle earlier in the week, and it will likely be Sunday before anyone outside the Steelers locker room knows exactly which five players will start at which spots across the offensive line.
Shazier, one of the team’s most important defensive players, suffered a knee injury last week and didn’t practice all week. Gilbert also was injured in last week’s win over the Chiefs.
Also out are cornerbacks Justin Gilbert and Senquez Golson, fullback Roosevelt Nix, wide receiver Eli Rogers and starting safety Robert Golden. Shamarko Thomas is listed as the No. 2 strong safety behind Golden on the team’s unofficial depth chart.

Darrelle Revis doubtful, Eric Decker out for Jets
Posted by Josh Alper on October 7, 2016, 12:58 PM EDT
Jets coach Todd Bowles said on Thursday that the team would wait until Sunday morning to make a decision about whether cornerback Darrelle Revis will play in Pittsburgh against the Steelers.
They may not make their call official until that point, but there doesn’t appear to be much hope that Revis will be able to play after hurting his hamstring in last Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. Bowles said Friday that Revis is getting a doubtful tag on the team’s final injury report, which leaves him unlikely to play for the 1-3 Jets.
Assuming things don’t take a rapid turn for the better, that will leave Buster Skrine, Juston Burris, Marcus Williams and Darryl Roberts as the cornerback options against Antonio Brown and company.
Wide receiver Eric Decker has been ruled out for the second straight week due to a partially torn rotator cuff in his shoulder and right guard Brian Winters is out with a concussion. Wide receiver Quincy Enunwa is questionable with a knee injury after not appearing on the injury report earlier in the week, so the Jets could be quite shorthanded at wideout if things don’t go his way.

Golsen n Harris to IR means their done if Dupree is returning. That hurts but it's pro ball so we have to deal and move on. Feiler n Shabazz up and we'll have to get by with that. Shabazz was okay at camp but Feilers footwork worries me. Lets hope Gilbert is back asap.
