    DeAngelo Williams

Can't give the FO enough credit for going out and getting him last year. Can you imagine where this team would be without him at this point? I love the way he plays.

Note: Sorry, should have merged this with the Player of the Week thread from last week.

True dat, I for one thought he would have little value at his age

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Right now, he is the best RB in the league. Thoughts?

I think he also lead the league when Bell was suspended last year.

Seems like a great pick up and a great fit. Great attitude too because I don't remember him complaining when he lost his starting job last year when Bell was out.

Mentioned on the broadcast that Williams said the Steelers were the perfect place for him when he signed. Had lots going on in his life...death of mother, child being born, cut by Panthers. Steelers gave him stability and made him feel valued. He has paid them back big time. Would be nice if we could get him a Super Bowl ring as a Steeler

Great attitude, a great team mate, great in the locker room, in addition to his skills on the field.

I said, we should have traded bell awhile ago.....To me Williams has the starting job...no way I reward Bell with the starter job after what he did to the team.....
                We don't need Bell!!

You really can't say enough positive things about DeAngelo and what he's done for the team over the past 2 years.

I'll admit, I did not like the signing at the time, but I'm certainly glad that he's proven me wrong.

Sure...dump the 24 year old RB and keep the 33 year old RB...I'm sure that strategy will work out great in the long run.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I'm glad you said it before I replied. Getting rid of Bell would be dumb. It's an after the season issue but not now. Besides I doubt Williams can carry this workload for an entire season.

Exactly. I think part of the reason that the Steelers are running Williams so heavily is that he only needs to survive 3 games with this type of workload. You can't give a 33 year old (even one in good shape like DeAngelo) that many carries over the course of a season and expect him to hold up.

not me... i thought he was a formerly elite (and under-used) RB for his career who might have a little more in the tank due to his timeshare situation in Carolina.

Admittedly, I kinda wanted him, and then Stewart (over Mendenhall) - unfortunately, Carolina chose Stewart - really hoped they'd take Mendy that year. I argued that they had 2 of the top 10 backs in the league (only to be ridiculed).

back on topic, he's studly - hoping he's used to spell Leveon a little more than last year, honestly.

speaking of RB's anybody else think Karlos Williams may steal a spot from Toussant before this is all over?
