    CBA Lockout

Don't know when the current CBA expires but I sense better than 90% probability there will be a walkout/lockout. Too many disgruntled players not happy with the way things are being run in the NFL.

The only glimmer of hope is if it is several years away, these players will be retired and gone away.... with their millions in the bank.

I think it's like 2020, but even if the players decide to holdout, it will never last. The majority of the players do not make enough money to endure a lengthy holdout so they lack any leverage. The owners know this, which is why the players always end up with a bad deal.

The majority of players DO make enough money for a lengthy holdout...they simply need to exercise some foresight (as Ramon Foster suggested) and save some money...actual self-control...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

The majority of the league simply can not afford a lengthy holdout, careers are simply not long enough to forfeit a season of pay. Your asking guys now to save money for a lockout they most likely are not going to be here for. The median yearly salary for an NFL player is about 860,000 now factor in that careers on average are less than 4 years, what your essentially asking is for a majority of the league to sacrifice not just money but also a portion of their already short career. Let us also not forget that the guys the players are trying to wait out are multi billionaires.

Of course, you're right. I have no idea how players could possibly survive on $860,000 spread out over two years. There is just no way it could happen...

It's not about surviving, its about possibly sacrificing 860,000 and sacrificing a portion of a very short career. Guys are not going to be willing to give that up in order to change a CBA that they may only play under for a year or two.

seriously, what percentage of the nfl players are really that pissed at goodell?
is 95% of the league willing to sacrifice a years pay to support the 5% of idiots violating the rules?
is the desire to smoke dope and use PEDS worth giving up a years worth of income? especially to the guys that dont want to smoke or dont dope up?
what are these guys really gonna hold out for?
