    Artie Burns

Burns with a halfway decent showing in the first half of the game.

L Jones back to his old self, stare down receivers, inconsistent throws.

Chickillo making plays all around the ball.

    Grant needs lessons in tackling.

I saw Burns get badly "burned" on a running play.

I agree, not a great game for Landry. Not sure what kind of backup QB Steelers have in him.

Reserves in the d-backfield definitely need improvement.

Again...I fear if any of the starters go down. Jones doesn't have an excuse..he's had how many preseasons and regular season experience (he has had some in regular season), he should catch on right now if he's Roethlisberger's eventual replacement. I've seen more bad than good with him.

Burns has an excuse, first live game...he gets a pass, even though he did break up a potential touchdown.

Saw it live.. we looked TUUUUURIBBLE.

Burns looked GOOD though. I like Richardson and think he may push Toussaint down the chart.

Jones didn't do anything but it's not like he was playing with anyone with substance and the Carolina LB depth is ridiculous.

I swear, Carolina is who we used to be on defense. Not sure how we ended up here but our depth on D or the scheme isn't impressive at all.

As I was watching I was thinking the exact same thing. They are loaded with stud LBs and the Steelers have fallen down, down , down. Part of this is intentional with current staff focus on fast, light, LBs to cover. It makes you wimpy against the run.

Dizzy you seem to have a huge case of D-envy

Two years ago it was Seattle you were lusting after, Denver last year, and now it's Carolina. I know you have the stink of seeing it live still on you but it WAS THE FOURTH PRESEASON GAME. There was no scheme at all because of that fact. There hasn't been a scheme all preseason! Carolina was running safety blitzes last night! Who does that in the fourth preseason game???

I love the DL on this Steelers team and Hargrave and Ricardo Matthews add to the depth. Regarding LB's LT is LT and Shazier is a breakout stud. Plus the depth is really good! Vince Williams is an awesome extra inside lb and Fort and Stevie Johnson are super solid backups.

Obv the back end is still a concern but I love what I've seen from Sean Davis so far and as you said, Burns looked good last night.

            Have faith brother!
