    SKL FINAL Mock

While I think we would be best suited trading down at least once if not twice (I'd like all the 2nd and 3rd rd picks we can get). If we don't trade down and keep picks where they're at, I think this should be it.

    1) Andrew Billings-DT_Baylor-Not just another big run stuffer. This guy can get into the backfield. The final piece to the DL.
    2) Karl Joseph-SS-WVU-Praying that this kid is still here at 2. Game changing talent. He holds the key. If he is gone it's CB- probably Artie Burns
    3) Cyrus Jones-CB-Alabama-tough waiting this long for a CB but this kid is well coached. The game will not be to big for him and he can return kicks.
    4) Zack Sanchez-CB-OU-gritty tough football player with awesome ball skills. If we went CB in the 2nd it's Killebrew,Thompson or Dillon here.
    6) Matt Ioniddis-DL-Temple-Need some depth behind Cam and Tuitt. Lunch pail Pittsburgh guy.
    7) Tre Madden-RB-USC, Wendell Smallwood-RB-WVU or Aaron Green-RB-TCU-take your pick.....hopefully Smallwood
    7) Brandon Allen, Cody Kessler, Jeff Driskell-take your pick

Seems really feasible. Tomlin and Colbert spent a ton of time with both Billings and Joseph at the Baylor and WVU Pro days. Our official visits seemed to focus on round 1 DT options and round 2 S options. The last time we went back to back CB picks in round 3 & 4 with Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen it didn't work out...hopefully we have better luck with this pair...Cyrus's return ability would be a much needed bonus there. Ioannidis with our 5th pick adds such needed depth behind our starting DE's. And then use your 7th rounders for some offensive depth. Bravo!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I like it SKL! But think 1st rd might be a surprise this year. So many have the steelers taking Billings which is a good pick. But how often do mock draft picks line up. I also really like Joseph! Oh and the steelers need a 1st rd CB people will be jumping of brides come Thursday night if you are correct.

If we waited until the 3rd to draft a CB, I wouldn't be sad...especially if the Steelers ended up with Billings and Joseph...

There are already three young CBs on the roster...those guys have to improve, plain and simple...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Particularly fond of these 3 picks. 100% onboard with the first 2. Also a fan of Madden from USC - if he's injury free, he's likely more like a 2nd rounder. Good quality of player to have as a backup, in spells.

Good mock. Wouldn't be unhappy if it played out that way.

I have my bridge all picked out. I will listen to the draft in easy proximity just in case the DT prediction comes true.
Witnesses will say....."he jumped and all we hear was the dude screaming NOOOOOOOO as he plunged to his death still clinging to his radio with ESPN draft coverage still playing."

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

haha! NICE! Just a foot note to my post. I have no problem with a CB if BPA on there board! But as a fan I don't think that will be the pick. It seems every couple years there is the major CB in the first movement! I think someday they might if he is deemed a special player. Just don't see it this year.

I'd be thrilled if the Steelers come out of the first and second with Billings and Joseph.

Indeed. Completes a potentially dominant d-line trio and adds a guy who is arguably the best safety in the draft by many (assuming that Jalen Ramsey is a corner).

I get all of the Billings love.

He looks like a game changer

                          BUT

If they only intend to use him in the traditional base NT role- I'm not thrilled with that pick in the 1st.

Now, if they believe they can put him in, in the passing sub packages - and kick Tuitt, or Heyward, out to DE- and play a 3-3-5. (In that config- I'm keeping Harrison, Shazier, Dupree on the field and sending one of them, from any spot.)

The Steelers won't draft a traditional 3-4 NT in the first. So if they do draft DL in the first he will be expected to play as the 3rd man in the DL rotation in nickle packages.

Well, that is what we hope. Which is why I made that comment, but I tend to agree- they are smart enough not to use a 1st round pick on a 1 down player.
