So if we re-signed him, he could be anywhere from our CB2 to our CB4. What is that worth, in dollars? It would likely have to be a one year "prove it" type deal, I would imagine.

In Carolina, he likely wouldn't have a shot to be a CB2 (unless Josh Norman refuses to sign the franchise tag and cannot come to a long term deal either, thereby sitting out the beginning of the season), but would essentially be guaranteed to be their CB3.

For me, I'd rather sign Boykin and designate Cortez as a post June 1 cut than let Boykin go and bring Cortez back yet again.
    My thoughts exactly.

Ditto. Allen release saves 4 million.

Yep. A one year "prove it" deal...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I feel corner was the top position of need in the draft even if Boykin stayed.

I don't think we really wanted him and I don't think he really wanted us. Bring in the next replaceable carbon unit.

Hopefully he got enough money to factor into the comp formula.

He signed a ONE yr. deal.
That confirms that this guy has a screw loose. Could simply be a poor, immature attitude.
With his talent and skill set you'd think he could get a 4yr deal.

Antwon Blake gets a multiyear deal and Boykin signs for 1 yr. Red Flag!

BTT... for Sid Smythe. I don't think that's it at all... per tomlin.

Good and bad eventually they all are and there is a line ready to step in their place.

I think it was one of the top needs, had Boykin stayed. Now it becomes THE top need for sure. Will be shocked if they don't go Defense in the first 3 rounds.

I never said he didn't have a good head for the game. Yes he has skill.

However TOMLIN never said anything about him "Off the Field"

Why would a guy of his talent get interest from 1 team and only sign for 1 yr??
