Posted by Josh Alper on March 11, 2016, 1:50 PM EST
Cornerback Antwon Blake didn’t have a very good season for the Steelers in 2015, but that doesn’t appear to be keeping him from drawing interest on the open market.
Ralph Paulk of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Blake is scheduled for visits with the Patriots and Titans this weekend. Paulk adds that Blake’s agent has also spoken with four other teams about his client, which would seem to make for a good chance at landing a deal sometime soon.
Blake started every game in the regular season and playoffs for the Steelers last season and had 76 tackles, a sack and two interceptions during the regular season. The Steelers gave up the third-most passing yards in the league last season, however, and Blake’s play was part of the reason for their struggles.
Blake played 46 games in his first three seasons with the Steelers, but started just once and a reserve role might be his fate wherever he winds up playing next season.2019 MNFE CHAMPIONComment

Antwon Blake scheduled to meet Lions after visiting Patriots Tuesday
Posted by Josh Alper on March 15, 2016, 8:06 AM EDT
Cornerback Antwon Blake did not turn in a very good season for a leaky Steelers pass defense in 2015, but that hasn’t stopped him from setting up a tour of teams that could sign him as a free agent.
Blake was in Nashville to meet with the Titans on Monday and will be in New England for a Tuesday visit with the Patriots. Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that Blake will head to Detroit and a chat with the Lions from there, although that’s obviously contingent on Blake failing to land a contract with the Patriots.
Blake had never been a starter before last season and the teams showing interest may think that moving him back to a lesser role will result in better play when Blake does see the field in 2016. Titans General Manager Jon Robinson and Lions General Manager Bob Quinn used to work for the Patriots, so a shared view of Blake’s abilities across the three teams wouldn’t come as a tremendous surprise.
Neither the Patriots nor the Lions have made a move at corner this offseason. The Titans signed Brice McCain and saw Coty Sensabaugh sign with the Rams on Monday.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment
