    Cam Thomas to Visit Seahawks

    Didn't see this coming:

    Hopefully they overpay him.

Hopefully L.T. Walton will improve with a year of development under his belt, and maybe we draft another backup to Heyward/Tuitt like, say, Jihad Ward or Matt Ioannidis in round 4. Perhaps considering bringing back Al Woods again as a guy who could possibly provide depth at both NT and DE.

If Steve McLendon goes elsewhere, I could see us taking advantage of a strong DT class by drafting guys like Jarran Reed, Andrew Billings, Vernon Butler, or Austin Johnson with one of our top two picks.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

We also have Caushaud Lyons, who was with the Buccaneers in the preseason but lost out in the numbers game...he fits the physical profile of our DEs to the proverbial "T"...he also showed some pretty impressive athleticism and explosion for a big man...like LT Walton, he was really raw as far as technique...

Both he and Walton have worked with Mitchell for a year...perhaps they can earn some snaps this year with Cam Thomas out of the picture...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I also wonder depending maybe depending on Mclendon, if a later FA swing type DT/DE will be grabed for cheap. Like Al Woods or another? There will be players released yet. Or that speciality DT type to rush the passer could be had in FA? Along with the drafted DL guys.

With this draft class it isn't a good year to be a so so DT who is a free agent. That level of player will likely be signed after the draft. Thomas n McLendon will likely just have to wait. Thomas plays on skates no way he will be back and I'm not sure he lands anywhere but McLendon on a short term low end deal could work.

I saw that Paul Soliai got cut by the Falcons with a Post-June 1 designation. I know he is on the wrong side of 30 but he did gets lots of love here at one time. Maybe a depth pick up on the cheap?

I think Soliai would be good for a guy who plays 30-40% of snaps and is paid as such...

He was also Weddle's teammate in Utah for two years...

Would love Al Woods back. IMO, not that big a step down from McLendon, but at a more budget price. Also, DE Jason Jones from Detroit is drawing some Steeler interest.

These types of guys can help in the package formations. Then draft a NT type in the draft & the D-Line looks pretty strong.

                Light up the darkness.

Rams add Cam Thomas to defensive line group

The Rams continued a busy offseason on their defensive line Monday by adding another veteran to the mix.

Agent David Canter announced on Twitter that his client Cam Thomas has agreed to a deal with the team. The defensive tackle previously visited with the Seahawks this offseason.

The Rams have also signed defensive tackle Dominique Easley and defensive end Quinton Coples as free agents this offseason. They brought back defensive ends William Hayes and Eugene Sims, released defensive end Chris Long and saw defensive tackle Nick Fairley sign with the Saints.

Thomas played in every game for the Steelers over the last two seasons, starting 10 times and recording 29 tackles. He spent the first four years of his career with the Chargers, compiling 70 tackles, six sacks and an interception in his 54 appearances for San Diego.

Don't think you get one for anyone signed after June 1. I could be wrong about that, though.

Yup. Neither Cam Thomas nor David Johnson will factor into the formula.

They obviously weren't a factor in our formula anyway
