    And the winner is...

Super Bowl XLIII. The greatest Super Bowl EVER!

I never voted during this contest. I was always pulling for this one, though. So deserving. Still feel bad for Ben not winning the MVP.

Don't think he really cares, though, knowing him the way we do. It's just cool that people recognized it for what it truly was.

I think if Ben had been able to spread his passes out to more/different receivers, he'd have gotten the MVP, but when most of those throws there at the end went to Santonio, that's probably why.

I hear what you are saying, boots.

But I always come back to 2 things about that drive.
1-Ben accounted for every single yard on that game winning drive. While Holmes was the main guy, Ben did throw for a 1st down to Nate Washington. And Ben did scramble for 4 yards.
2.-Holmes missed the easier catch on 1st and goal. Right through his hands. Ben dismisses it and goes right back to the dude, and he's triple-covered, and puts in the only spot possible for a TD.

It really is one of the most incredible drives ever. Especially when you consider the circumstances.

Ben will always be the MVP of that Super Bowl in my eyes.

A great one, no doubt, but I'm not sure it's even the greatest Super Bowl that the Steelers have won.

I am. The combo of 100 yard INT return with 0:18 in the first half and game winning drive starting at 2:30 in the 4Q puts it over the top...the fact that it is an unprecedented 6th championship is the icing on the delicious cake that is SB XLIII.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I respect your opinion...and don't get me wrong, I loved the win in #43; some fantastic plays and a fantastic finish, no doubt...but there were some pretty amazing plays and 4th quarter drama in other Steelers' SB wins (I have a hunch you're too young to remember the Steelers' first 4 Super Bowl wins). I can't single out #43 as definitely being a better game than X, XIII, or XIV. To me, a game can be just as exciting if your defense has to preserve a win in a close game as if your offense pulls it out. Maybe we can agree to disagree on this one.

I agree that SBXLIII was the best ever. It transformed my brother, who is a lifelong Dolphins fan, into a complete and total Steeler maniac, if only for a 4 hour window.

My father and I went to Detroit for SBXL, which we thought was going to be a once in a lifetime thing, and we had such a great time that when we got tickets to SBXLIII as well, my dad shocked me by saying that he didn't want to go because he didn't want to risk spoiling the perfect memory he had of attending a Super Bowl victory after the 2005 season. So he gave his ticket to my brother the Dolphin fan, with the stipulation that he wore my father's Steeler ballcap and the Hines Ward jersey that I gave to him on the morning of SBXL at our hotel in Ann Arbor as a surprise (plus he had to buy my dad an official Super Bowl gameday Terrible Towel from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa).

After the Harrison interception return before halftime, after the Santonio catch in the corner of the end zone, after the referee came out from under the replay hood to confirm it was a good catch, and after the Woodley sack/fumble of Warner that was recovered by Keisel to clinch it, he was jumping up and down, screaming, high fiving other fans around us, and waving that Terrible Towel he bought for my father just like anyone on here would have been doing, except that he was actually a Dolphins fan. That game was so good that it made my brother a crazed Steeler nut, if only for a short while. Awesome stuff.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Like Jackie Smith dropping the TD in XIII? Smith fell on his sword for Staubach's sake, taking the blame for it, but that dropped TD ended up being the difference...

I was a bit too young for the '74 and '75 SBs, but I remember the '78 and '79 victories...though my memories are that of a kid who didn't fully understand the nuances of football...but I definitely remember Smith dropping that TD...

that drive, both Ben and Santonio made amazing plays. Although he had the miss, the GW catch was incredible, as was his RAC on another big gainer play. I watched and said, "Holmes is MVP" without even thinking the obvious, "ya know, they usually give those to the QB".

I wouldn't have been surprised by either, but, to play devil's advocate: You know yards by QB vs WR are not apples to apples. QB throws for 250, it's a so-so game. WR receives for 250, it's a AMAZING game. I don't know specific stats, but, let's say Holmes accounted for 5 of 6 completions and 60 of 70 yards (rough guestimate) on that drive.

Put it in perspective on a regular game - Antonio Brown lights up Chris Harris and we're talking AB, not the fact that Ben threw 5 laser's on a drive to him... i agree that it's the spread factor in those cases. if you keep hitting the same WR, it puts the focus on the WR.
