    Defense wins championships

Watching these championship games its obvious that passing for a bunch of yards all season doesnt matter once the playoffs start.

Just watched Denver's D carry Peyton to a SB and I'm watching Carolina's D force 4 TO's and give the offense short fields.

All about pressure on the QB. Got to have the pass rush. Von Miller and Demarcus Ware owned the NE Tackles. That is why we need more from our OLBs than we saw this year.

And the Carolina O knows what to do with it. The Cardinals look like a JV team out there. If the 1st half of the Seattle game and the team from today show up, Denver has no shot.

Denvers only hope is their defense...

And yet with all the pieces of our offense we would have owned the Broncos defense. We could have gotten there with a suspect defense because our offense is that good. But I am all for improving the defense so we don't have to win shootouts. Btw, I think the Cards still make this interesting.

Going into the game I really didnt think Denver had a chance. Their defensive line was awesome. That's the first time in years where Brady was beaten like a ragdoll all game long. I wouldn't be opposed to the Steelers picking up another D lineman. Even Cam Heyward said he needed some help with breathers at the end of the season.

Maybe we can get one of Denver's!

The cards are getting absolutely destroyed. Newton moved through their D quicker than a hot knife through butter. They are literally playing around going for 2.

Or not!! Can't win when you keep turning the ball over. Carson Palmer is playing like he was still a Bungal.

You can take the Palmer out of the Bungles, but you can't take the Bungles out of the Palmer.

Palmer's throwing motion is really odd looking. I bet that hand injury is a lot worse than the team led on.

                        Yeah, real interesting.

I agree our O matched up well with the Denver D but our D couldnt get a stop when we needed it the most and our ST's crapped the bed.

Our D isnt bad though, at least not late in the season. We just need to get more pressure and cut down on the missed tackles

My theory on this game was that DEN was primed for a strong postseason run, since their capable but old QB Peyton Manning didn't subject himself to a full season. My theory is that old guys (who still can play--e.g. Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Manning, Brady*) can't sustain a full season, and will at some point falter getting to the Big Show.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I'm sick and tired of watching these 4-3 teams with not as many top round draft choices as us dominate even high powered offenses

their DL ISNT CONCERNED with 2 gapping or if they have to drop into coverage because of a zone blitz scheme.
Younger players are not often confused as to what their assignment is.

We need to Just simplfy things. Get 4 linemen on the DL and tell them to attack. Attaxk the QB and the running lanes.
We might have w stars there in tuiit and heyward.
Dupree has the body type to be a 4-3 DE.
There's more coverage linebackers on this team then there are rushing the QB types. So drop them back into the passing lanes to help the secondary

kuekly is a star and we possibly have a guy just as good as him at coverage and is likely faster him in shazier
quit BSing with dickies antiquated system and play your best players to their advantage

That theory sucks... it was the defense.
