Nix and Chris Hubbard signed one year contract extensions.

The Steelers also signed 10 players to Reserve/Future contracts, as Pittsburgh signed safety Jordan Dangerfield, linemen Matt Feiler and B.J Finney, cornerback Isaiah Frey, tight ends Xavier Grimble and Cashaud Lyons, running backs Rajion Neal and About Toure, receiver Shakim Phillips, and safety Ray Vinpoal.

Even more Steelers need offseason surgeries

The Steelers were seemingly playing hurt all year.

Now it’s time for a number of them to get well.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin rattled off a list of players who would need surgeries soon.

Included on that list are safety Mike Mitchell (left shoulder), punter Jordan Berry (right shoulder), who are facing four-month rehab periods, along with linebacker Ryan Shazier and tight end Matt Spaeth, who need knee scopes and face rehabs measured in weeks. guard David DeCastro and tackle Marcus Gilbert need ankle scopes as well.

“Our experiences in ’15 are just that,” Tomlin said. “Not seeking comfort in terms of what happened this year relative to next year.”

But even if he doesn’t want to dwell on the problems, it’s hard to argue their impact. Being without their best wide receiver, top two running backs, a left tackle and center, it’s also kind of impressive that they got as far as they did.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
