Wow seeing that painting brings back alot of board memories! That is a work of art. So much to absorb. I'm not an art fan, but I could stare at that thing for an hour.

Maybe I'm having a brain fart, but why on earth is Scooby Doo in the place of a jersey number, 4th individual from the left? Something I never noticed before.

Scooby von Oelhoffen. The artist explains this and other symbolism below:

This is a signed Open Edition (Not Numbered)lithograph of my painting Once in a Blue Moon. The story that is found on my Home Page will be mailed along with your order. Pittsburgh celebrates its Super Bowl victory with a dinner party organized to introduce their fifth Lombardi Trophy. I tried to represent Pittsburgh's unprecedented run and victory by placing players or symbols to represent each game throughout the playoffs. A Bronco is depicted on the wall, and, of course, the cooked bird on the dinner table is the "cooked" Seahawks. The Rooneys can watch everything transpire from their painted portraits. First, is Chad Johnson of the Bengals. Chad used our sacred Terrible Towel as a bib because he did not want his new Bengal jersey to get slopped on while he ate. Myron Cope, the creator of the Terrible Towel, was upset about Chad's sacrilegious behavior towards the towel, so it is fitting that Myron is getting his shoes shined by Chad and his Tiger Towel. Troy Polamalu (43) is busy explaining the story of the "interception that never happened," a mistake the referee admitted to making the next day, to Alan Faneca (66) and Casey Hampton (9. The always-smiling Hines Ward (86), in his most valuable player jersey, leans in towards his good friend the Bus. Jerome Bettis (36) has a bowling ball in hand to represent his retirement and love for bowling. We all will miss you dearly, Jerome, but what a way to go out?.on top! Aaron Smith (91) has his thumb up to represent the fifth ring, the one for the thumb. Coach Bill Cowher is center stage and is surrounded by his beloved team. We'll never forget "Who Dey???We Dey!" and the infamous thrusting chin when things were not going as planned. Joey Porter (55) is pointing to his wine glass demanding that Peyton Manning "Keep it filled!" The dinner "whine" came compliments of those very good sports Mike Holmgren and the Seattle Seahawks...what a noble gesture! Notice also that Peyton is attired in his souvenir green apron that he got from his heroes at the "Decaf! Decaf!" Diner. Jeff Hartings (64) is enthusiastically waving his Terrible Towel while Fast Willie Parker (39) has his elbow down on the table in order to represent the "almost" fumble that Cowher red flagged, and we got back. No one will ever forget his breakaway speed in his 75-yard record setting run in the Super Bowl. I hope your college coach was tuned in. Then there is Scooby, sometimes known as Kimo von Oelhoffen (67) . When Kimo realized that they won the Super Bowl he said, "Sew What?" Kimo is known as Scooby in his home state of Hawaii and also is very good at sewing, so I have him crocheting a Steelers scarf. Like Joey Porter, Antwaan Randle El (82) is raising his glass towards Peyton for more wine. We will always remember his key gadget plays that helped to solidify the championship. Being a quarterback in college obviously has helped Pittsburgh and has made the playoff run an exciting time for the fans. Jeff Reed (3) likes to comb his hair straight up?.just like his kicks. Good Job, Jeff! James Farrior (51) is pointing to the theft of the newest Lombardi Trophy. Jerome Bettis was the last sentry on duty and was to safely guard the prize but Nick Harper of the Colts has picked it up, and there is only one man left to beat? Big Ben Roethlisberger (7). Ben makes a last ditch effort and luckily is able to grab his shoestring. If Ben doesn't make this tackle, the team does not get the chance to play in the AFC Championship game, and there is no Super Bowl Dinner. The Steelers were the sixth seed and played all four games on the road. No sixth seed wildcard team in history has ever made it to the Big Dance. The Steelers did it and won the game. In the Colts' post-game interview, Rothlisberger made the statement, "Once in a blue moon Jerome fumbles, and once in a blue moon I make that tackle." This statement, the game saving tackle, and the players' religious faith are the inspiration behind my painting. Thanks for the memories guys.

Thanks and God Bless, Fred Carrow
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Excellent thanks Ruthless. I do not remember that excellent description. I was also wondering what Peezy was doing. When we win the big one this year, we may need to commission Fred for an updated rendition. I'd love to see coach Peezy, headset and all slyly smirking in a corner somewhere.
