I don't think anyone will ever say Whitlock is well connectedwhats funnier is if whitlock said tomlin was the best coach in the league and he handled his team perfectly the other day, whitlock would be praised as a great journalist who is highly connected and regarded by people on this message board.

He's entitled to his opinion...right or wrong. I'm not a big fan of the media. The opinions of the dudes on this board carry a lot more weight with me then Whitlock's opinion.http://sportsnaut.com/2016/01/jason-whitlock-mike-tomlin-escapes-criticism-because-hes-black/
Mike Tomlin is the most coddled coach, perhaps in the history of professional sports, Whitlock said, appearing on The Herd Wednesday. He is untouchable, and its inappropriate. I think the guy is talented, I think hes done a good job, but hes not above reproach.Comment

How exactly does someone from the media "coddle" a head coach? By not calling him out when his players go crazy and lose a game through stupidity and lack of control on the field?
Where are the fines for "clueless" assistants Porter and Munchak? Is it possible that there is no fine forthcoming because they did nothing wrong?
That's coddling?Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+# up and wear it.Comment

I've never even heard of him now, so I won't be able to not remember him later, whoever the hell he is.
How is Tomlin coddled? He gets plenty of criticism. And I fail to see how an alleged lack of criticism is tied to being black. Does this guy really think there are people out there - sportswriters, athletes - who wants to criticize Tomlin, but hold back because he's black? It's retarded.
If this guy is just referring to the fact that the Steelers won't fire him, that's just the way the Steelers roll.Comment

I must be in an alternate universe. I have never heard anyone say that Tomlin is above reproach. In fact, the reproach started the first year he coached here and it has never stopped. Good grief, people dissect every word and facial expression of his press conferences. Saw one yesterday on another forum. The poster accused Tomlin of rolling his eyes in reaction to a reporter's question. Geez, I do that all the time.Comment

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment
