Immaculate Reception, "The Tackle", this last game ... rank most exciting playoff gm?

I wasn't around for the Immaculate Reception, but I know enough that has to be #1.

    1. Immaculate Reception.

    SO, how would you rank:

** Yesterday's game ("The Beatdown in Paul Brown" you heard it here first!!) vs.

** The 2005 playoff game in Indy (Ben ... The Tackle; Idiot Kicker missing wide for Colts; Manning with two passes into the EZ, including a Manning to Reggie Wayne guaranteed TD pass into the corner, except broken up by a ROOKIE, Bryant McFadden!).

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

Gotta be XLIII for me. The James Harrison Pic6 has to be the most exciting play I've ever witnessed. The Santonio catch at the end was icing on the cake.

XL was the next biggest game for me. The FWP TD was electrifying. The Ward TD reception from ARE was exciting even though we all probably knew it was coming. The big 3rd down completion from Ben to Ward.

I'd put the Immaculate reception a distant 3rd because it wasn't tied to a SuperBowl and wasn't even part of a SuperBowl winning season.

This game was amazing. I think it's historic context will only be truly cemented if we win this year's SuperBowl.

I concur with most of the above...

Personally, I would add Cowher's surprise onside kick to Deon Figures in SB XXX...it was at that point that I genuinely believed that we would beat the Cowboys...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Good call. If we won that game, that one wouldn't have slipped my mind. I can still remember where I was cheering like an idiot when it happened

people forget that often because the team won so many super bowls in the 70's... HOWEVER, you could argue that it was the start of something special... iirc, beginning the next season, they won 4 of 6 SBs

#5 has been forgotten by some but that was still an incredible finish.

This, except I'd put the Indy game ahead of the Immaculate Reception too. Because I never saw it live, I don't have an emotional connection to the immaculate reception.

This Cincy game might be the oddest end to a game I've ever seen. It will go down as one of the best if the Steelers win the SB (I don't think they will unless Ben has a miraculous recovery). It's crazy that lost in all of this game coverage is maybe the best TD catch I've ever seen. I can't believe that they called it a TD because it's just so unbelievable that he caught it. Insane creativity, concentration, and flexibility. Even still, I bet he only holds on to that once out of 100 tries.

Nothing goes ahead of the Immaculate Reception.

I watched all those games on TV and have to say that there are times when you reach such a level of disbelief, admiration(for a great play) and just plain glee, that you just can't assign a rank to them. They just imprint themselves in your mind and you can remember every detail decades later. Disclosure: Although I watched the Immaculate Reception game I actually missed the reception in real time. When I saw the ball deflected, I instantly walked away from the TV set and into another room. After about 30 seconds I came back to the set and saw the bedlam. It took me a while to figure out what was going on.

Of course, I really didn't need to see the play live because it was replayed at least 50 times during the rest of the day on Pittsburgh stations.

Playoffs?? By far the top 2 of all time were the 1996 AFC Championship Game vs the Colts and the 2008 AFC Championship Game vs the Ravens.
The 2006 Playoff Run as a whole was the most exciting.

This comeback ranks highly for its drama and unexpected nature. I had given up.. The way they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat was as dramatic as the Immaculate Reception but took more than one miracle, instead of just one.
