    PI question

I know that Allen's PI on Green was a correct call, not looking back hands up. My question is later in game when I believe Landry was at QB on 3rd and long he threw what looked to be about 13 yd hook to AB. Well it sure looked to me that the Lb in coverage did the same defensive technique on AB. I was calling for a PI on that play. I did not see anything different on it but maybe Allen was a bit closer, thought PI should have been called and then would have moved the chains. Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

I should go back and watch the play but, yeah, when I saw it live I was wondering why no PI.

I think that both probably should have been PI.

But, the Bengal Defender looked back after the ball hit him. That probably was enough to "sell" that he looked back even though it was after the play.

I don't think Allen did that.

I remember that exact play and saw the similarities, BUT He didn't make his contact until after the ball arrived.
However Brown couldn't work back to the ball in time.....if BROWN made that effort there definitely would have been more contact before the balls arrival.

ALLEN made his contact b4 the ball arrived.

Saw the same and was yelling at the TV. AB was definitely interfered with.

Yes that was his second on a punt. He can't possibly make the team next year. No help at safety or special teams.

I would have been fine if both the A.J. Green and Antonio Brown plays were called pass interference.

I would have been fine if neither the A.J. Green nor Antonio Brown plays were called pass interference.

I didn't like that one was called and not the other, though.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Does the defender need to look back? I was watching a game (can't remember which) and the announcer (former NFLer) went off and says this is a myth and he is tired of hearing it. He claims the rule does not state the defender has to look back.

                    Truth or Fiction?
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I am so confused how was Talib play on Wheaton at the goal line not PI. To me it looked exactly like Will Allens on Green last week. Exactly the same.

There is zero consistency. Even will Allen's PI on that short out this game was very questionable, yet Bryant got wrapped up in end zone and nothing. 2 PIs in end zone for us that I've seen called numerous times in other games that weren't called. Refs affecting games sucks, we stl almost overcame it.

I think wheaton needed to make a better play on that ball. Maybe jump into him (hard to do going the opposite direction) to initiate contact.

And the bigger Non call was the 3rd and goal play to Bryant. He held his arm down and nobody said a word about it.
Likely cost us 4 points. Should have been 1st and goal from the 1 yard line

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is that no one knows not even the NFL.

Yes. I had the same reaction. I though Talib did not look back to the ball and faceguarded Wheaton just before the ball arrived. Also know that inconsistency in officiating is rampant in today's NFL. THe refs do the best they can, and it is a hard game to call consistently given the speed of the game, the high-level skills, and the size of the players.
