    Ben's Stats vs Cincy - 2015

    58 of 105 for 544 yards + 1 TD + 4 Ints

Those are pretty bad numbers - only 55% completion %.

I think we might need the D to carry us this weekend. Both matchups this season were decided by the turnover battle. It might be useful to get the running game going and not having DW may be really big this weekend.

The bright spot in each of the matchups has been Heath Miller who had 10 receptions in both games.

We may need Ben to work the short/middle portion of the field to avoid turnovers. It's been open the last 2 games. This game could come down to is Ben willing to take what's available to him? Or will he take chances downfield. Chances look like they will be very risky vs Cincy.

The one blessing in all of this is perhaps Haley will try to get the ball out of Ben's hands quickly because we don't have an experienced blocker in the backfield to help protect Ben.

We might need Ben not to be Ben this weekend.

Another surprise looking back at the games was that AJ performed better against us than Dalton did. I think we need to keep Ben focused on protecting the ball and going back to being Ben when we get past Cincy. It's going to be a big challenge.

I know Ben plays like garbage after returning from an injury but those are some ugly stats... well, except for the yards.

We definitely need to protect the ball.

      Cincy 1 (HOME): LOSS 16-10; 1st game back from foot sprain; 28/45, 262 yd, 1 TD/3 INT
      Cincy 2 (AWAY): WIN 33-20; 30/39, 282 yd, 0 TD/1 INT

      Combined 58/84 (69%), 272 yd/gm
Completion % is OK. Yds/att I'm OK with as long as he's 'taking what's available'.
      INTs are definitely a concern.

17-7 vs the bengals in his career

10-2 vs the bengals in cincy

Ints need to be limited this time around, but just like when ben played vs the bengals coming off a bad thumb injury in 2006, ben played like **** in the first game coming off the ankle injury

@drinelli: #Steelers Ben Roethlisberger (@_BigBen7) ranks 1st in NFL history with a 107.3 passer rating in road playoff games:

idk how to post pictures, but the next 4 are Bart Star, Aaron Rodgers, Philip RIvers, and Mark Bulger with ratings ranging from 99.2 to 99.8

          Its not even close.

These stats are in Ben's favor if he's putting in the time with Haley to game plan against what the Bengals are expecting.
The RB situation is key...... not so much in the running game but the passing game. I'm expecting a whole lot of Heath Miller on check downs/block and release.

Ben really can't afford bad INTS flipping field position.

If the Steelers really do need to rely on their defense to win this game then this will be one big disappointing game for the Black and Gold.
I happen to think the offense can control this game on both sides of the ball by playing smart football. Those that are raggin on Toussiant have to remember he has done very well in limited PT in picking up blocks for the passing game. Something Archer could never do.

Roethlisberger was clearly out of rhythm and inaccurate in his first game back from his knee injury, so the first game against the Bengals indicates nothing, as far as I'm concerned.

As for the second game, Roethlisberger handed the ball off to DeAngelo Williams twice at the goal line, and Martavis Bryant was interfered with in the end zone, though no flag was thrown. Roethlisberger's lone INT in the second game was a deep bomb that was essentially a punt. He completed more than three quarters of his passes that game, and the offense put 26 points on the board against a team averaging 17.4 points allowed per game, and the stingiest red-zone defense in the NFL.

All of this...and I'm cautiously anticipating a blowout.
