We're going to have to have Bryant be BRYANT if we are going to do anything in the playoffs. Because we won't be able to rely on the run game... a pass offense with ONLY AB is just "good". With a right Martavis AND AB and Heath and Wheaton... we are an easy 30. Bryant is the X-factor, no doubt about it.

Bryant hurt his neck and that's why he was out. As far as Blake goes, he still sucks. He also gave up that big catch trying undercut the route for the int, but missed per usual. I'm about to post an article about him and a few others.

Blake had that pass break up by the goaline and the sack.
He did nothing else the first half.
He did have the illegal contact.
He continued to give the big cushion but this time he played on the right side of our D.
          Mitchell is still too deep.

              Blake played the first half.
He played the first series after the half.
The first play after CLE picked it off and had 1st and Goal.
              Cockrell came in after that.
Mr cushion was back the next series and when Allen got hurt, Golden came in and Cockrell for Blake.

Coming into the game QBs were 72 of 103 for 1003 yards and 8 TDs throwing against Blake. He is terrible.

So 3 weeks in a row BLAKE gets abused and removed from game only to start the following week. I just can't wrap my brain around this.

It's the Jedi Mind Trick for the playoffs...opponents will be expecting Blake to start and their whole game plan of "throw at #41" will be screwed when he's not on the field!
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I can only assume Mitchell plays so far off because; a) he doesn't know or trust his assignment on a given play, b) he is conservative and doesn't have the speed to keep things in front of him, c) we were too accustomed to seeing Troy P creeping up to the line and now Mitchells positioning is more 'normal'....

the argument for blake is the coaching staff is 'comfortable with what he brings'. that's what hoke said after the game.

If true, I don't know why they're comfortable. because what he brings is the fact opposing teams are going to continue to target him relentlessly with the sure knowledge they will connect on enough splash plays to potentially lopside the game.

at least with boykin he's a bit of an unknown and there's a chance cincy will spread it around thus giving us some potential balance.

Single minded and one dimensional thinking. Blame Blake for all the woes of the defense. Blake is the not the only weak spot of the secondary. It seems that he is blamed for everything and responsible for a lot less. Boykin and Cockrell are playing just as much. The linebackers and the safeties are also being beaten and missing tackles and all the people can do is point a finger a Blake.
