FB Roosevelt Nix to I.R.; linebacker L.J. Fort promoted from P.S. to fill roster spot

    Steelers place Nix on IR

Posted by Zac Jackson on December 28, 2015, 4:39 PM EST

The Steelers have placed fullback Roosevelt Nix on injured reserve. Nix suffered a foot injury in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Nix had played in 15 games, making three starts. He also had eight special teams tackles and a forced fumble.

A defensive tackle at Kent State, the Falcons first tried Nix as a fullback in 2014. He signed with the Steelers last January.

The Steelers filled the open roster spot by promoting linebacker L.J. Fort from their practice squad. Fort has 17 games of NFL experience with the Browns and Seahawks.

The Steelers need help to make the playoffs. They have to beat the Browns next Sunday and have the Jets lose to the Bills.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
