    Willie Gay...

...has returned all of his last 5 INTs for TDs.

He is the first player in the history of the NFL with 5 consecutive "pick 6s"...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

A William Gay pick 6 = victory. When that happened, victory was assured.

And to think, most here were glad to see the back of him when he left for Arizona.

Say what you like about him, he has always given a good return for the investment put in him. And he seems a high quality guy.

Hopefully, in time, he'll be remembered more like Deshea Townsend around here- a very solid, reliable player that did his job, and did it well.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

        Light up the darkness.

He's also a starting cornerback on the NFL's 31st rank pass defense so let's not get too crazy with the gay accolades.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

            I never do.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If we had one or two more players like Willie Gay in the defensive backfield, would they be 31st?

              Besides, yards schmards...

he was a very bad player for many many years. A true liability that good QBs would pick on. He cost us games. When you are thrown at all the time you have more opportunities to make plays. I'm glad he has made some. I remember people loving Lewis because of his pass defends. Well, yeah, he had a lot because he was thrown at constantly because he was bad. So glad we weren't able to resign him. Gay hasn't gotten better. His INT are mainly against bad QBs or turnover prone QBs. Yes, he's doing his job and I am a fan. He should be our 3rd CB though not our 1 or 2. I'm thinking Golson overtakes him and maybe someone else as well by next season...when we win the SB

Steelers are winning it this season.

I suspect what you are seeing now is Gay's experience and recognition coming into play. He is not athletically gifted but as many players have demonstrated, being in the right place at the right time can make up for a lot.

Congrats to Gay for putting together a fine season thus far. Glad to see the Steelers recognized there was still something in his game and for Gay to translate that trust into big plays for the team he loves.

Yeah, who cares if the Steelers start all of their drives at or inside the 20 - yards don't matter.

He's the tallest midget. Plenty of other guys to pick on. He was the patsy when we had Troy and Ike and Ryan Clark.

His end zone dance confuses the hell out of me.

Upon drafting him years ago, Deshea is EXACTLY the name I mentioned. Some read scouts reports and called it a wasted pick - but, I had inside scoop having watched him for years. Said he'd hang around for many years because although his 40 was slow-ish, he was smart (Deshea all over again). Thought he'd be a decade-long nickel back who could start if starters were hurt, or we simply didn't upgrade... fairly accurate, I'd say.

Through the years, I think I've outperformed the pro scouts on my assessments of Louisville players... forget McShay and Kiper, ask DeVille.
