I agree greene goes in, but i'm wondering if the mythical anti-steeler bias gives mecklenberg a bit of an edge. do kickers or punters ever make the HOF? if so, anderson is a no brainer - but there are many voters who simply won't vote for a kicker. TO will be punished this year, but will get in eventually. He was a game changer. marvin harrison or torry holt? solid, but long shots IMO.
I didn't do too bad. Here's the list:

    Dungy
    Greene
    Harrison
    Favre
    Pace
    Stanfel
    Stabler
    Debartalo
    2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!

You may not like him, but TO should have been selected. If you're starting a team and you can have either TO or Marvin in his prime which are you taking? As far as I'm concerned Faneca not getting in is criminal, 9 time Pro-Bowl selection and 6 time All-Pro selection, regarded by many to be the best guard of all time and he has to wait. The HOF has become the Hall of Statistics and since linemen can't accumulate them they get short changed, see Dermontti Dawson.

Stabler was a clutch player and played in many incredible games against our team, but I never considered him HOF. If Stabler gets in, Roethlisberger is a slam dunk now.

The T.O. thing is a bit overblown. Yes, the guy had stats that very few WRs can match, so I suppose he's in for that. But people constantly cite that along with his broken-leg SB performance. But, for those seasons that he was that level of player... how many seasons did he also sabotage with some of his selfish behavior? I can certainly think of one season that he basically single-handedly made it a me me me sort of thing (that year he and McNabb had it out).

On a similar note, I just read an article about Hines probably having to wait, due to T.O, Harrison, etc. waiting too. Hines Ward, to me, is first-ballot. The HOF shouldn't be all based on stats. T.O. and Harrison were blessed with blazing speed and skills. Hines made the 1,000 catch club with 4.7 speed and no ACL! He also was considered the best blocking WR in the league for years. These things say how "great" of a WR he was.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Personally, I don't think Hines is a HOFer, for me he's similar to Kurt Warner a very, very good player, but not a HOFer. That's me, I think the HOF is getting watered down. I don't know anything about sabotaging a team, maybe he did, maybe he didn't, one thing is for sure, in his prime, when he was on the field you had to account for TO or it was game over.

I respect that. For the Hines Ward thing, to me HOF goes as much to overcoming obstacles and maximizing one's self as it is, on the field accomplishments (stats). If a midget had 1,000 catches in the NFL, would he get precedence over others because he did it despite being a midget? With Hines, the guy did not fit the mold in any way, but he overcame it to the tune of 1,000 catches and 2 SBs.

You could argue Hines was the best or certainly one of the best blocking WRs to ever play. He was a Super Bowl MVP and the leader of the Steelers for years. Add the fact that a rule had to be added specifically because of the way he played and Hines Ward deserves a bust in Canton. No question!!!
