The flip was well done...but I don't like the idea of Steelers' players attempting them. Next thing you know, one of our stars--who we can ill afford to lose--will injure himself when he doesn't "stick it" right. It's not worth it.Comment

I was mad on one hand and impressed/pumped up on the other...
I enjoyed watching it (and my 7 year old freaks out at the replay!) but I hope he doesn't do it again...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Hey I agree it is a unnecessary risk but entertaining. What he is really paid to do IMO! And any block he is asked to do. Or quick cut can cause the same issue. The turf monster is there all the time for guys like him. I have the same thought of him returning punts. If he is the best he should do it. When we have his equal at punt returns he should not do it any more. As coach likes to say injuries are part of football.

Yep. But forward flips are not part of football.Hey I agree it is a unnecessary risk but entertaining. What he is really paid to do IMO! And any block he is asked to do. It was fun to watch though

I don't recall where, but I have read several times that Ben has asked AB to quit the flip act and that Tomlin has TOLD him to quit it. If that's true and he still keeps doing it, what now? Fines? Benching for a quarter? Benching for a game? Or just ignore it and set a very bad precedent?Comment

It's similar to what we were talking about last week, with Nix and Mitchell dancing around celebrating their big hits while the ball is live on the ground. Are these things addressed in any meaningful way by the HC? It's one thing to tell the players to knock it off, it's another thing to put some teeth in the demand.I don't recall where, but I have read several times that Ben has asked AB to quit the flip act and that Tomlin has TOLD him to quit it. Attempt to handle it quietly in-house first so as not to humiliate him. If that fails (or has already failed), you must bench him a quarter and/or fine him.
There are 3 issues.
1. Unnecessary and real risk of injury.
2. Potential for excessive celebration penalty.
3. Need to check Brown's ego. Left unchecked, we might wake up one day with a TO situation. We've already seen glimpses of Brown's ego with his comments and antics earlier this year when he was getting enough balls from Landry.
The common thread underlying all of these issues is selfishness.Comment

it was awesome... especially because it upsets the grumpy old fans who watched the game played the right way.
I was totally shocked... I thought it was going to be another flip onto his back but he stuck the landing after a full sprint.
I don't care about the ifs, coulda, woulda, injury talk... we are witnessing a WR do things we have never seen before.
Shut up and put more butter on the popcorn...Steelers 27

I've never seen a wide receiver blow out his knee during a celebration and then cost his team a chance at the playoffs as the clock on the team's star QB's career continues to tick away to 0. I'd rather not ever see it too.
If we ever lose a player to a showboating injury, be sure to shut up and eat your popcorn.Comment
