I keep telling you. All position players in the NFL are injury prone. Take a look at the injury reports each week and the lists of players on IR. It's happening to every team. Guys are even retiring in their 20s because they know the game is dangerous and don't want to risk it, even for millions of dollars. What more evidence do you want?
thus he is injury prone using your definition.

Round 2? No. Maybe 3, but preferably in the later rounds. The Steelers still have Williams, and RB is a position where you can pick up UDFAs or street FAs pretty easily. I'd also give the Steelers a season to evaluation Pead.

Yes, feltdizz, but my definition of injury prone is not a criticism of the player. Many people here think that being injury prone equates to "made of glass", "China doll" and other such bilge. Then when a guy gets hurt ( along with a few dozen other NFL players on the same weekend), we hear snarky comments like "can't make the club in the tub" or pretty obvious suggestions that the player is a malingerer. Well, to that I say bull ca-ca and I will keep saying it. The players are human beings. The rest of you can go on imagining that cyborgs or bionic men will come along who will never get hurt.

yeah... unless it's pulling up gimpy untouched year after year or not playing through a little pain I can't see how injury prone is used to criticize Bell when we watched his knee get twisted up 2 years in a row.

If you don't think fatigue or pain causes you to do things you wouldn't normally do, then you aren't paying attention. And while Brady is fine right now, the laws of Mother Nature won't escape him (unless he's on something). If he plays all 16 weeks, he will be fatigued by the end of the season and it will show. Things like "will" and "grit" and all that other nonsense is out the window when it comes to fatigue. One of the truest sayings in sports is that fatigue makes "cowards" out of men. A fatigued guy will (e.g.) become more impulsive and less accurate.

A long season is dandy for a 26-year old man. It is the bane of a late 30's guy.

I have historically liked big bruising backs but Bell has convinced me a well rounded back is the way to go.

cowards? lol... that is a horrible saying when applied to QB's like Favre, Manning and Brady.

Favre went to an NFC Championship with the Vikings.

Manning went to a SB with Denver 2 years ago.

                      Brady just won a SB...

The "laws of mother nature" have nothing to do with a 16 game season and losing in the playoffs. Its 22 other guys on different teams and 22 guys on their team that determine if they will win out or lose early.

The law of averages works against most QB's because it's hard to win a SB and its extremely hard to win back to back.

I don't even like any of those QB's but its laughable to point out how they were fatigued.

cowards of men? lol... a 40 year old who never missed games and played at Lambeau, another guy who has neck surgery and continues to play when most would retire and a QB who routinely puts up 40 pts...

                      stop it.

Fatigue makes cowards of all men, a Lombardi/Patton quote, right?

I think it's true of those guys too, in the heart of the battle. IMO, Brady will predictably become inaccurate at the end of a game if hit hard, and I always had Manning nick-named "Fetal Position Payton". Nothing to do with the extraordinary courage I think he's showing by suiting up after his injury, just a comment that I think that's a different kind of courage.

                            You don't think they're fatigued??
It is a figure of speech. It is not to question their courage per se. It is to say that fatigue, makes human beings (everyone) cut corners and/or not be able to see things to a certain degree. In the adage, courage is figurative as much it is literal.

BUT... I'll definitely say: older guys feel it more.

As for those particular players (guys like Favre and Manning)--their downfall in that situation is that their teams are built to rely on them more than anything else. Tom Cheater* is an exception to my rule. Though, I still will look for him to slow down as the weeks roll by. John Elway and his Terrell Davis-led teams (i.e. oldest QB to win a SB) is also a classic example.

Let me be clear: everyone gets fatigued; I just think old guys get more so.
