    Dri Archer

Became a free agent and has apparently turned down a number of PS offers, including turning down an offer to join the Steelers PS:

That's the only thing worthy of what he deserves to be. a practice squad player.

Why would he not want to join our PS? Is it because he's holding out hope that someone will add him to the active roster (and he'll earn more money, pay-wise)? I just don't understand.

Because him clearing waivers... doesn't that mean no one really wants the guy? And if that is the case, shouldn't he be happy to sign on to a PS (a nice sport for him, BTW)? No matter what you may say about his (lack of vision, his poor tackle-breaking ability)... with his one ridiculous asset (his speed), he should be able to carve a niche like an Edelman, a Cole Beasley, a DAT, a Sproles (not saying he's any of those guys play-wise, but they were all able to overcome deficiencies, adapt to minimize their weaknesses, and find a place in this league). No reason he can't.

Heck, Dwight (Hands of) Stone carved a nice 5-years in the league.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Jones was awful, taking the wrong hole at least once on KR's when the blocking was set up.

my niece is a pastry chef at a restaurant in Pittsburgh. She said Jacoby Jones comes there every day because it reminds him of New Orleans. She told him if he plays better she will give him free food...

He got excited and promised to do better.

              We will see...

I'm sure he's waiting to see if a team gives him a chance on the 53 rather than PS and have to work his way up to the roster. The article even mentions NE because Lewis is out for the season with an ACL injury. Aren't Dion Lewis and Archer nearly the same stature?

Should we be offering free beignets to a guy who is on the team because of his speed?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Dwight Stone was a Steeler from 87-94, then a Panther from 95-98, and finally a Jet from 99-00. He finally retired at age 36 after 14 NFL seasons! Who knew?

yep, this is my feeling as well.

I don't blame Archer for not signing to our practice squad.

We never gave him a chance on offense this season and our KR blocking is trash...

but he should probably sign with another teams PS.

Archer's problem was he never got chances to develop. The league rule changes make kick returns a rare beast and add our inability to set up a return for anyone that eliminated any chances he really had.

As far as playing on regular downs, the offense has so much freakin talent it would almost be a distraction to develop "special" plays for him.

I do expect him to latch on with someone. Heck if we see more of the Jacoby Jones we saw on Sunday, I'd bring him back to us.

so if archer goes somewhere and produces, it falls squarely on tomlin for not giving him a chance
