    A Woeful Steelers Stat

    The Steelers are ranked #21 in the NFL on third down conversion percentage averaging slightly better than 1 out of 3. This a big drop from last season's 44% conversion rate. Yes, there are obvious reasons for the stat but bottomline the Steelers can't expect to win consistently at this level of conversion.
    Even more disturbing the Steelers are 29th in number of 1st downs per game. Last season they were good enough to be in the top 10. Haley's going to have to work some magic if this offense has any chance to move forward this season.

      Could Ben being out for 4 games help??

      The only stat I look at at this point.

          OTOH, the Steelers are 3rd on yards/play and 7th on yards/game.
          I prefer to look as few but long first downs.
