Couldn't serve as a punt returner ( couldn't trust him to catch the ball) and was not even an average kickoff returner. If not for where he was drafted he'd have been released a lot sooner.
Archer is plenty fast, but he has no wiggle or vision. Also, one of his pre-draft scouting reports said he was "rail thin and goes down easily on first contact". That's pretty much spot on.

Archer is only stopwatch fast and, IMO, the reason he isn't football fast is two fold.

      1) His ability to find creases (vision) isn't good enough
      2) Because he can't find the creases he gets hit before getting to top speed and goes down

I'm sure if you put him in a straight line race he would smoke 99% of the NFL, unfortunately, you have to be able to see and elude tacklers in the NFL and he wasn't very good at either from what I've seen this year.

And while it is a shame, the Steelers have come to the same conclusion.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.
