    no way.
that was such a great pick. an absolute steal in that round. DC's were gonna lose sleep over facing this guy. tomlin should have seen how great he is in practice and know that the fans are wrong about him sucking and wanting him released
    i dont get it
steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clown

Good move if for no other reason than it keeps you from having to face Jacoby Jones again.

Jones has been awful this year returning punts, but if he can return to form, it saves you from having to use AB on punt returns, which is an added bonus.

Archer was not quite as terrible as he was made out to be - there was also some pretty terrible blocking this week, but Jones should be an upgrade.

I liked what the Steelers were trying to do when they drafted Archer, but he showed he was totally in over his head.

The steal came a round later.

Jones has been really bad this year as a returner. Given that and how bad our special teams is with their blocking I don't see this as an improvement. I'd still rather give Archer more time.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

                but Go Steelers!!!

Jones has looked slow and there is a reason he was put on waivers. Don't think we got much of an upgrade. Kickers will still be kicking 9 out of 10 deep or out of the end zone meaning no return chances

It makes sense. Archer was simply not adding anything to the roster. He had zero rushes and zero pass receptions this season. He was never able to return punts. And at this point, with the percentage of kicks not being returned you can stick anyone back there. The few kicks he did returned he showcased a lack of vision with a lack of speed burst. It was (past) time.

I wonder how Jones will like playing for Tomlin! Ha!
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Not surprised they released Archer, but not sure Jones is an upgrade at this point. Looked to me as though he may be done.

Yes he was. you could touch him with a finger and he'd fall over. Went to the Cincy game. I was sitting 7 rows from field and that one KO return was right in front of me. A Bengal came up from behind, grabbed him, and Archer fell backwards. Awful. He should just get his insurance salesman's license.
