I will be carefull here as when this punt went down I don't remember the score. But a smart move by the coach not living in his fears. Keep the game close make the banggals work to win it IMO! If he would have kicked it there you would be saying another stupid move by a stupid coach! LOL. You do not like Tomlin as coach we got it! If Ben would have played more careful I think they win that game! He gave the banggals hope with the int and the momentum! Just throw the ball away! I would give Ben the benefit of the doubt when he would throw it away! Just as he did in the end zone!

I agree with Ruthless. I was sitting down near the open end of the field and at the time, I thought the punt was the best call. In a close game like that, field position is huge. It wasn't terribly windy down in the end zone, but yea, the flags on top of the goal posts were moving. Tomlin, imo, made the right call. The punt could've been a better punt though. I think that was the one where he only punted it to the 20 yd line. High, but no distance to get it inside the 10. I am more p'oed at the clock management inside of 3 minutes....

Yep. I can't be too upset with the decision to punt, but you've got to think your professional punter will do a better job in that situation.

Yea, I was sitting there and the ball went practically straight up in the air with hardly any distance. I said to myself- WTF kind of punt was that! lol He did put a few inside the 10 earleir in the game. At least 1, from what I remember.

He would have lost the challenge and a TO. The replay was conclusive that the offensive player had the ball and the defensive player was attempting to wrest it from him. Even if you give simultaneous possession the offensive player gets the ball. I'm glad he didn't challenge that one.

CORRECT. Furthermore, in the event they both catch simultaneously, the ball goes to the offense. That would have been a horrible challenge.

I think with Ben back at QB and the defense playing well he felt field position was going to be a better option rather than risking the long field goal.

Did you even read my comment on why it should have been challenge. Replay clearly show he only had pos. When he landed in which would be Cincinnati ball but short of first.
