Blake didn't lose the game all by himself, but his performance didn't help. I don't know if it's unfair to point that out, but he was one of the weakest links today.

Blake is targeted every week for a reason. He coverage skills are average and his tackling is poor.2019 Mock

I think it is just becoming a thing for the fans to put him down. They like to make somebody the fool to put down. Then everyone joins in and they think they doing something smart. Did he do something that was more egregiously wrong, than the rest? Explain.Comment

Last TD on Blake, short pass to the flat Blake first man there and he missed could've been a 2yd gain on 3rd down instead it goes for 40+. I could go on but I might bust up my tv.http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

Article posted on Bleecher.
As a secondary, the Steelers didn't give up that big play through the air that they're prone to, but the Steelers secondary did allow Smith to move the ball up and down the field with short throws that usually resulted in misses tackles—namely the 40-yard catch-and-run by Albert Wilson thanks to a poor tackle attempt by Antwon Blake.
Speaking of Blake, teams just continue to target him week after week. At what point do the Steelers move away from him, especially as he continues to get beat and miss tackles?http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

Blake is a decent downfield cover guy, he struggles in the short passing game. I think Green is a better matchup for him rather than these guys who catch everything underneath. Now his tackling is terrible, he will fly in and hit you but he doesn't wrap up, this has led to a lot missed tackles for him. I'm not sure why Boykin hasn't seen the field more but I haven't seen any practices nor am I attending any of the coaches meetings, but I would imagine Butler has a reason why he wants Blake in there.Comment

Short or deep, Blake just can't cover. The guy gets turned inside out by average receivers and now the league is targeting him every game. Maybe he has a skillset better suited to a safety but he is a C-minus CB at best"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Ugh, I sure hope not. I'd rather see the Steelers start Cockrell and have him watch up with Green, the way they used to do with Ike Taylor. Cockrell is a far cry from Ike as a cover guy, but he's the only corner with the size and speed to match up with Green. He'll still need help but hopefully he can limit the damage.
As for Blake, his tackling is supposed to be his best attribute. And he played with a broken hand. He is the guy that is being targeted by opposing offenses, and with good reason. He can generate some turnovers, but he's not a particularly good cover guy, to say the least. It seems that he waits for the WR to catch the ball and attempts to dislodge it (which, in fairness, he does rather well) as opposed to preventing the pass from the onset.Comment

We are already 7 games in, so there is only 56.25% of the season left. Since Boykin has only played 10 snaps so far this season, he could play every snap from here on out and it wouldn't be over 60%, so that is not a potential excuse anymore.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Also, with a healthy Ben, hopefully they will reduce the number of defensive snaps and gain back ToP...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment
