Best live sports experienced in my life

Just got home from San Diego. It was a birthday weekend for Mrs. Fan and me. Both turned %#$@^ years old.

We are spent. Voice is gone. Broker than the Clintons leaving the White House. But it was the best live sports experience of our lives.

Seriously, that stadium was about 60% - 70% Steelers fans. We owned the tailgates, the town, the stadium and then the momentum in the second half. The noise was insane.

When Bell scored that TD the place was vibrating it was so loud. Then the official came out after the review. The place was silent. Then the words "After further review, the ruling on the field stands." Then another eruption. It was insane. No words will describe it. We stayed in there and rocked that home stadium of ours for about 30 minutes. After that - tailgate round two for about an hour and a half.

Finished up the night with In-N-Out. Life is good.

    Awesome, brother!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

i'm curious. did you interact with any charger fans? with all the talk about them moving up the road to LA - has the fan base started to check out? I know steeler nation travels well - but you only buy those tix if someone is putting them up for sale.

Crowd noise from Steelers fans affected Philip Rivers in San Diego

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 14, 2015, 5:11 PM EDT

If you watched Monday night’s Steelers-Chargers fans and thought it sounded like a Steelers home game even though it was in San Diego, you weren’t alone: Philip Rivers felt the same way.

Rivers said there were so many Steelers fans in attendance that he couldn’t call his signals and had to go to a silent count, something teams typically only have to do on the road.

“We were in silent count. There was no chance,” Rivers said, via the San Diego Union-Tribune. “We’re checking in and out of plays. I’m usually hoarse after those road games. I’m going to be today as well. I don’t know where to credit for that, whether you give it to Pittsburgh for just how many fans there are, whether they travel or whether they are just all over the place.”

Rivers was careful not to blame the fans in San Diego, or to use crowd noise as an excuse for the Chargers losing.

“Our fans that were here did their best. Obviously, we had the Steelers fans quieted for some time. It was loud on some third downs for our defense. [Crowd noise] did not affect the outcome. It’s way down the list, but it was unique to say the least,” Rivers said.

With the Chargers trying to move to Los Angeles, games like this could be used by ownership as a justification for pulling up stakes. In San Diego, even home games can feel like road games.

Being a Steeler fan at an away game and watching the Black and Gold take over the joint is awesome. I was at the Steelers - Falcons game last season and we owned that place. Embarrassing for Falcons fans.

Yeah, I can sort of understand us taking over in San Diego or St. Louis this season, since their fans may feel betrayed by their owners wanting to abandon them for greener pastures in L.A. But taking over in Atlanta is embarrassing for Falcon fans for sure.

In Denver it gets pretty close to a 50/50 split. I have had many Denver fans say "I can't believe how many Steelers fan are here"

That's been my experience there, too. Arizona is the same way.
