Positives from the PIT BAL Game

For a change let's look at a few positives from that game:

    1. the Steelers may have finally found a CB to replace Taylor. add the bonus that Cockrell can actually catch a ball.
    2. Vick can still make plays with his legs, which might be enough to keep offensive drives alive
    3. Steelers are one game closer to Roethlisberger returning.
    4. Steelers learned Scobee isn't the answer at kicker.

OK. so it's a short list, but you'll have that after a game like that.

It wasn't (atleast not one that can be blamed yet) an elimination game.

Yes. How could I forget Tuitt?? Guy is a baller and will be a centerpiece on the DL for a long time.

How is that a positive? Whoever replaces him is currently unemployed and will be kicking for a team that fires kickers.

          No pressure there.

The positive is they learned he wasn't the answer and are doing something about it rather than hoping he will eventually turn things around some time during the season. I know, a little twisted thinking...

Timmons, after a slow start, seems to be back in form. Would be great to see Timmons and Shazier together with both playing well.

Vick did not turn the ball over. These next few games, playing Cowher-ball might be our best chance to win...provided we can find a kicker who can make 41 yard FGs...

                    Marty-ball!

Except we usually did that with a lead in the old days? And conventional wisdom is that it wasn't so great anyway. Anyway, to the degree they went "conservative" Thursday, it didn't seem all that helpful.

                      Only because our kicker sucks.

Archer had a nice KO return late in the game.
Coates gets his first nfl catch.
AB's string of 5-50 games ends. I was getting sick of hearing about it everytime the steelers passing game was talked about in the media.
Pass defense wasn't terrible. Just waiting til they play boykin and get the best defenders on the field.
Martavis Bryant's suspension ends. Vick seemed to like throwing to him.
Bell's elusiveness and explosiveness look better than ever.
Vick showed he can play disciplined for a half. Knocks some rust off.

Let's see what happens in San Diego when Vick has more than one practice under his belt

Steelers release kicker Josh Scobee. We will have to wait to see if this is a positive.

It can't be a negative. We'll have to see if adding the new kicker is a positive.
