Mike Mitchell on Steve Smith's "Hit List"

IMO, Mitchell hasn't yet earned the right to yap. Needs to shut his mouth and work on playing safety.

He had a pretty nice game last night. Smith is a punk.

Mitchell had a better game than Smith...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Blake and Timmons made the hit that hurt him, not Smith. Not only is Smith a total punk but he's an imbecile as well.

Mitchell did have a good game last night. But he hasn't had all that many for the Steelers. So I still don't think he's earned the right to yap. Just my opinion, though.

And I agree, Smith IS a punk. His retirement can't come fast enough.

Yeah, I was thinking that it was actually Blake's hit that gave him the contusion.

I think he's going to come into his own. He really had a dinged season with us last year and he's healthy this season. He also wasn't celebrating for meaningless hits last night. I think he has the potential to be a Ryan Clark type safety for us as this defense gels.

Mitchell has been a solid starting safety in the NFL for 7 years, to say hasn't earned the right to talk trash and he needs to learn how to play safety is ridiculous. He played last season with two torn groins, the guy is a warrior, and he will turn your lights out on any given play.

I'll admit, he looked better this last game. Maybe he had a groin that kept him from tackling well earlier this season. I hope the excuses are about done, and he turns out to be a defensive stalwart for the Steelers, because until recently, he sure hasn't been.

Earlier this season? We are in the third game, I don't recall any bad tackling by Mitchell, he has been really good.

maybe this will jog your memory:

On New England’s first play following the Steelers’ field goal, Bud Dupree was isolated on Rob Gronkowski, and after he made the catch he made Mike Mitchell miss badly in the open field to complete a gain that turned out to be 52 yards to the Pittsburgh 27-yard line.

That would be a "poor tackle"...not "poor tackling". He missed a tackle on Gronk...that automatically makes him a bad tackler...

He's been in the NFL for 7 years, but hardly solid for most of that time. After 4 undistinguished seasons in Oakland, he signed for the vet minimum with Carolina, where he had one good year playing behind a good front 7. He was terrible last year. He played well in the Ravens game, but so far, his trash talking has vastly exceeded his on field performance.

Well, it seems Smith has 4 broken bones on his back.
