I get it. You're all looking for a silver lining. If you want to find a silver lining look at Bud Dupree.

Next you all will try telling us Arthur Moats is starting to catch on.

I never took you as one of those guys that has to be miserable after a win or a loss. The Steelers as it stands right now are 1-1 with Vick and in 2nd place of the AFCN. I think nearly every fan said that Vick being .500 while Ben is out would be a bonus. Well if he can somehow manage to help them win one of the next two games the Steelers will indeed be .500 while Ben is out. Enjoy the win, the Steelers can worry about everything that went wrong, but you're a fan, enjoy it. The Ravens are 1-4 and in all likelihood their season is over and their 100 million dollar quarterback is playing.

I thought he had a strong game, collapsing the pocket, chasing down run plays, getting a sack, and forcing a fumble, what more do people want from the guy?

I thought he had a solid game, as well. Biggest thing he needs to work on is a bigger array of pass rush moves as I think he's become a decent edge-setter. He bull rushes every dang time and gets rode upfield most of the time. Just once, I'd like to see him start upfield and spin inside.

This defense, across the board, is starting to take shape.

The rotation of the LB's masks whatever failings they have a fair bit, as they all bring different strengths to the field fresh. I can't say any one of them is playing outstanding, but I can't say any of them are playing badly either. And the pressure & sacks are coming from all angles.

The 2 DE's are outstanding. Depth is required as none of the other DL are showing enough (maybe McCullers...maybe).

The DB's have had their critics, but outside of Brady, nobody has really torn them up.

I think the team needs solid Safety play, not so much improved CB play. It's the TE's that cause us the biggest problems. Mitchell is going ok. Not sold on the others yet.

But the pieces are starting to fit.

If Shazier gets back on the field soon, and the Steelers can find a stable DL rotation, this team could go far.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                    Light up the darkness.

Let's not get carried away. I'm happy for the win and psyched that the D played well. Wake me when it happens against a good team.

Jones showed a marked improvement over last week. He played well.

Jones played a big boy game last night. Need to see that every week, but it's a start.

I love the LB rotation with Harrison, Jones, Moats, and Dupree outside and Timmons with Spence and Williams inside (and hopefully Shazier back soon as well). You are right about the DL depth, though. Heyward and Tuitt are workhorses, but you could see the California weather (temps in the mid 90's at kickoff and oppressive humidity throughout, even after the sun set) affecting them late in the game...and Rivers tried to keep them on the sidelines by trying to go no huddle whenever they tried to take a one play breather here and there.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

With the exception of the Ravens game, where he didn't play a lot, Jones has been good this season.

I agree. I also think that as the season progresses, teams will have to start double teaming both Heyward and Tuitt which should mean further improvement from all four of our OLB's. We need to find a rotation for our DE's though. I don't want their wheels to fall off.
