Actually I did, so what I called Villaneuava a TE he was a decoy, not for a pass but for a sweep in the opposite direction. That is exactly how you run an empty crack sweep, why the hell would Antonio brown be on the field? Why would Brown lined up on that side of the field make them think sweep? There where a number of breakdowns in the blocking and they are obvious to anyone who has played or coached football where there where running QB's involved. Every situation is advanced scouted and so is every defense, it's not like the offense is just blindly trotting out there and going lets give this play a shot. There is a reason only the top players in the world can play at this level and it because they are relied upon to execute, if it was matter of just calling the "right play" why even bother paying anybody just play all of the practice squad guys. -
Just stop. You're making a fool out of yourself bending over backwards defending this indefensible crap.Actually I did, so what I called Villaneuava a TE he was a decoy, not for a pass but for a sweep in the opposite direction. He replaced Antonio Brown with Alejandro Villanueva on the most important play of the game.He broke down the entire damn play, and you blow it off as a typical lackey response. It's much easier just to call someone a lackey than to do what he did and analyze what actually happened on the field.
But what would I know...since I don't think Tomlin and Haley are the worst coaches to ever walk the earth, I must just be another mindless lackey.
Please, just stop.Comment

Here you are second guessing Nfl coaches, people who have done this their entire lives, people who know what defenses they are facing and their tendencies, people who know what they have practiced, people who are considered the top minds at their craft, and you tell me I am making a fool of myself? I don't even know why I'm engaging you, your doing nothing but flaming.Comment

Ahh, the old "they're professional coaches, so they can't be criticized argument". Just play that card in the beginning next time, please, and we won't have to do 100 laps on this. Here you are second guessing Nfl coaches, people who have done this their entire lives, people who know what defenses they are facing and their tendencies, people who know what they have practiced, people who are considered the top minds at their craft, and you tell me I am making a fool of myself? Well, to be fair, you failed to respond in any way when he actually broke the play down for you, just as other deleted posters failed to respond to it....
It's poor discussion form to reduce his argument like that without addressing the points he made.
Just my opinion...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Smails/Crash did just fine in that regard. He acts as if professional coaches can't make mistakes. So do you.Well, to be fair, you failed to respond in any way when he actually broke the play down for you, just as other deleted posters failed to respond to it....

How can you criticize professional players for not executing if you've never executed on that level?
Maybe we should just shut down message boards since nobody is qualified to comment.Last edited by WindyCitySteel; 10-12-2015, 11:55 AM.Comment

He replaced Brown with Villanueva and the defense is "why the hell would Brown be on the field for a play designed to split Villanueva out wide in his spot?".
That's like saying "Why would I ever consider an electric carving knife when I've already decided to use a plastic butter knife to carve the Thanksgiving turkey? You just need to execute better with the plastic butter knife."Comment

I didn't tell you to withhold comment. Nor did I say you were any more or less qualified than any other poster. I merely stated that neither you nor Crash refuted anything that he stated. This is a fact.Smails/Crash did just fine in that regard. He acts as if professional coaches can't make mistakes. So do you.

That is what is called a false analogy. He replaced Brown with Villanueva and the defense is "why the hell would Brown be on the field for a play designed to split Villanueva out wide in his spot?".

That is nothing like what I said, You are questioning the calls and saying this person or that person should be on the field without any of the information that the people making the decisions are privied to. You have no idea what play the offense was running, you have no idea what play the defense was running, you don't know the playbook, you don't know what was successful in practice, you don't know the ravens tendencies in that situation . The only thing your doing is looking at the outcome of play in hindsight and saying they should of called something different, but that doesn't tell you if it was a good call or not.He replaced Brown with Villanueva and the defense is "why the hell would Brown be on the field for a play designed to split Villanueva out wide in his spot?".

Or, according to some on this board:
If a play works, the coaches are geniuses!
If a play doesn't work, the coaches are geniuses! An onfield FAIL could NEVER be the coaches' fault.Comment
