    Why on earth would anyone want Allen at Safety? He has been awful in coverage and run support, his tackling is subpar at best and he hasn't displayed any ball skills.

                Fortunately, the 49ers aren't deep at WR and run a lot of 2-3 TE sets, so there shouldn't be a ton of need for a nickel this weekend.

                I'm cautiously optimistic on both Cockrell and Boykin. It would be great if Cockrell becomes the player that they hoped Allen would become. And Boykin should be an upgrade in the slot if he ever makes it on the field.
