Emmanuel Sanders - another one get away?

Why does it look like we let a great receiver go? I'm taking about Emmanuel Sanders!

Peyton throws receivers open. Ben more often requires them to be open to throw to them. Ben doesn't routinely hit guys on crossers and slants in stride, it's short stuff at or behind the line, deep stuff, or middle range where the receiver sits down and is facing him.

Brady and Manning are rhythm passers that can pick teams apart with these throws to guys who don't look open, unless they happen to be playing the Steelers, in which case they're wide open.

That's why these little, average skilled guys thrive with Manning and Brady. They can run slants and crossers, but they aren't going to beat you physically, or undress you route running like AB would. But with the lax pass defense rules, they can run slants and crossers on line backers and nickel backs all day.

Sanders is a good WR. Sanders received a 15 million contract with the Broncos. The Steelers appeared to have less expensive replacements on the team.

Everyone is replaceable. Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant make Sanders and Wallace easily forgetable.

But Sanders never produced like he is in Denver. The Steelers had no choice but to let him go.

I'm more convinced each week that our coaches don't know how to use great talent....

We've always been able to draft and develop WR's, so it's no huge loss. We are as good at finding wideouts as we are bad at finding corners.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I think Sanders looks so good is the fact that he actually stays on the field and not on the sidelines with some injury or another (like here). He has been able to get better do to the fact that he actually gets to play. That is all we are seeing. Good Qb helps too, and I am in no way knocking Ben.

letting a WR walk is seriously the opposite of a concern for this team

No one misses Sanders. Merge this with the Mike Wallace thread.

They know how to use Bell, AB, and Bryant. Wallace and Holmes shined in Pittsburgh, not so much after leaving.

Sanders found a good fit with Peyton and as someone else stated, he's staying healthy.

other than MB's suspensions - I thought we are pretty satisfied with our current group. i think letting sanders go (for that type of money) was a wise move.

Eric Decker looked awesome in Denver as well...

If Peyton likes a WR, he will throw it to him a ton.

Sanders was paid well so all he is doing is living up to his contract.
