Brady could see “chaos” on the Steelers’ defense

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s three-touchdown game on Thursday night was aided in large part by major mistakes in the Steelers’ secondary, with Gronkowski being left open on multiple occasions. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says those problems on the Steelers’ defense were easy to see.

“I saw he was uncovered and I can usually get a good sense of when there’s not great communication going on between the defense. I typically want the ball in my hands at that point. Sometimes the chaos on defense is good,” Brady said on WEEI.

Brady credited the Patriots’ home crowd for being quiet enough while the offense was on the field that he could call for the snap as soon as he saw that the Steelers weren’t ready. Brady said he thinks the Patriots’ Week Two game at Buffalo will make the Patriots’ offensive communication tougher.

“I want the center to snap it and get it in my hands as soon as possible,” Brady said. “It’ll be a lot harder in Buffalo because they won’t be able to hear much. . . . I try to find a way to get the center’s attention so I can get the ball in my hands.”

The way the Bills’ defense looked on Sunday against the Colts, Brady is right to expect a tougher challenge on Sunday. A defense in such chaos that it leaves Gronk wide open isn’t something Brady can count on seeing very often

Ball deflating, cell phone destructing liar with zero credibility. But yeah, chaos - that one announcer was funny asking how the "1 on zero" Gronk-ass coverage was going for the Steelers. I don't think I've ever seen a receiver actually left uncovered at the line of scrimmage without at least someone pointing fingers and blaming someone else for blown assignments. Not covering Gronk seemed to be almost a deliberate play call.

Well jamming him on the line of scrimmage didn't seem to be working

Be as it may gronk is a monster that should have not been left uncovered lol. That one play where gronk was moving down field and caught one mid stride just was a nasty play.......

As per usual when Brady plays the Steelers. He loves it. He relishes it.

It would have helped if we would have had 11 players on the field for some of those plays ... uhhggg!!!
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

                but Go Steelers!!!

simple game plan from the pats get rid of the ball quick since we can not cover. Why does it look like we have below, average CB's?
You can bet every team we play, including 49's will test us on this.....
I don't want to hear they are young and rookies..plenty of other teams seem to have no problems with young guys....

I'm convinced we just have a bad coaching staff....

I think we over coached for that game. It looked like we didn't plan for Brady to play and changed our whole game plan the night before.

I won't lie... during the game I was ready to turn on Tomlin... but it's one game vs the Pats and we rarely look good vs them.

There were any number of plays that could have changed that game.

In our first game, we played uptight. But I think everything's all right. In the next game, we'll be clean out of sight.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Wasn't this D supposed to be simpler all the way around? DL shooting one gap, DBs facing the QB, etc?

True - missed FGs and DHB kept 10 pts off the board, directly. The false start at the 1 may have kept 4 off the board, too. Ditto the brain dead AB pass play call.

Even if you only take the 10, that makes it 28-24 when Ben starts that last drive, assuming everything else went the same.

Conversely, did the Patriots shoot themselves in the foot once?
