Positives from Th. night

Here's a link to another Steelers site that did a nice film breakdown of Jarvis' game on Thursday night. Worth checking out. He worked over Solder on more than one occasion. If we're looking for positives from that game, this was definitely one of them.

sure are. Wake me when Wheaton has a a 64 catch 975 yards 15.2 ypc with 4 TD season on a terrible team with no QB. So what are you basing your ahole on?

Pretty sure Wheaton would have better stats if he was the #1 WR on that team.

but since he is on our team, I guess you get to continue to sleep for a while.

That is a pretty decent breakdown, and it is quite encouraging. The Steelers have rarely gotten to Brady with outside pressure - he gets rid of the ball too quickly.

If Jones continues to play like this, that would be a big boost to the entire defense.

We beat ourselves, IMO. Look at the stats beyond the score. The kicker didn't help, DHB was 1" away from a touchdown, the bad call on the 1 yard line that hurt us, all worked against us. We held our own, and could have/should have done better. I wish the team was more disciplined in the details of the game, but this seems to be a problem for the last few years.

It's looking good going forward, IMO.

Me, too. It just happens too many times. Can't get why Rooney isn't more visibly pissed over that.

The pats were so efficient on offense, I have a hard time believing that if the steelers hit the two kicks and DHB scores a TD that the pats would have had too much trouble moving the ball and scoring more. The defense did ok in some moments but you can only play over your head for so long. Im glad they didnt get blown out but the pats weren't exactly struggling to move the ball

Well yeah, maybe.

Maybe if they picked up the BS PI flag it would have turned out differently too, maybe if they recovered the fumble it would have turned out differently....but from my perspective the patriots didnt have much trouble scoring or moving down field when they needed to

I think we out coached ourselves with that trick play. If we didn't run that play i have a feeling we march into the end zone and the whole tone of the game changes.

This pissed me off the most not counting loosing the game....

stalling the drive with the trick play and not being able to convert on the goal to go situation kept us from being in a shootout with **. sure the ** had an effective offense and our defense couldn't stop them, but I think we have an offense that can win that shootout 9 times out of 10

trick plays are always either the worst decision, or they are a stroke of pure genius.

The play was setup well on the previous play...NE just sniffed it out. They reacted on defense, we went another way playing with 10 guys on two different occasions and leaving gronk uncovered

Provided that we just play and don't get cute. Don't overreact when the defense simulates a snap on the goal line. Pick a fumble up after you force it. Keep your feet in bounds when you are standing in the EZ. These are not difficult things. They will happen for us.
